Instagram is a photo and video sharing social networking service owned by American company Meta Platforms. The app allows users to upload media that can be edited with filters, be organized by hashtags, and be associated with a location — via geographical tagging.
Instagram hashtags are used to categorize or label content and make it more discoverable. You can add hashtags to the caption of your Instagram post or Reel, or include them in text elements on your Instagram Story. They are a great way to expand your Instagram audience and get more reach.
The Plus icon at the top right corner of the screen can be used to create a new Instagram post, Story, Reel, or start a Livestream. The Messenger icon next to the plus icon lets you access your direct messages.

Instagram Story Highlights are the little circles with thumbnail images that display on your Instagram profile. They feature Instagram Stories that you've elected to save and share on an evergreen basis.
At the top right, the plus icon is used to create new content and allows you to choose from a variety of different types of Instagram content that you can create: a Post, a Story, a Reel, or to go Live on Instagram.
Additionally, if you have notifications enabled, Instagram puts each username in brackets before each notification to differentiate where the interactions are coming from. Should you need to log out of any of the accounts, simply go on the settings of the account and log out.
A symbol is a mark, sign, or word that indicates, signifies, or is understood as representing an idea, object, or relationship. Symbols allow people to go beyond what is known or seen by creating linkages between otherwise very different concepts and experiences.
The next symbol that may appear is the red dot. This means that the message you have sent has been read by the recipient. It's an excellent way to understand whether they have received and acknowledged your message. However, if you don't see a red dot, don't worry.
Start typing your bio and where you would like to place a special character go to “Insert” and “Advanced Symbol” Here you can browse for symbols you'd like to include like zodiac signs or arrows. Wingdings, Wingdings 2 and Wingdings 3 from the drop-down menu have the most icons to choose from.
Using Mentions "@" The “@” symbol is used when you want to address or name someone in a post. Some examples include tagging someone in a photo or naming someone in a status.
The Meaning of “TB” on Instagram
Typically refers to a post that is a throwback to a previous time, such as a childhood photo or a photo from a previous year.
Instagram captions allow the use of 2,200 characters, however there are limits when hashtags are involved. Since Instagram is, first and foremost, a platform for sharing photos and videos, the primary focus is typically your visual content.
Users can share a post by clicking the “paper plane” icon, either through direct messages with friends, or to their Instagram Story.
What you need to see in your shared Instagram posts. You can't see who shared your post on a personal account, unfortunately. Regular users who use an Instagram personal account can see who likes their posts and who views their stories but to see who shared your Instagram post you need to change your account type.
Can someone see that I viewed their Instagram highlight? The person or account handler will be able to see the viewers of their Instagram highlight stories only if it was posted within the last 48 hours. Once the time period is up, Instagram will remove the number of views and usernames from the highlight.

A grey circle (right) around the profile image indicates there is content to view, but it's content you've already seen. Touching a profile image that is in either state (colored or grey) will launch the story like this… Stories in Instagram are pretty intuitive.
The 3×3 hashtag strategy is associated with what your product or service is, who it is for, and what problem it solves. In other words, it focuses on the what, who, and why. For example, let us assume that you sell t-shirts for larger men. For the audience, your hashtags could be #largemen, #bigman, #dadbod, etc.
When you stop using hashtags, you're left with only one way to improve your Instagram traction — you have to actually produce great content. Because without the “magic” of hashtags, your content has to actually earn its engagement.
When posting to social media platforms, too many hashtags can clutter your content and make you seem spammy. Only tag your content with relevant hashtags, and resist the urge to use popular tags that have nothing to do with your content.
