It's no secret that Cas has been all in his feelings since Jack's shocking death at the end of Season 14, so when they finally reunited face to face, it was a moment. I mean, I actually teared up. Father and (adoptive) son have finally reunited!
However, Jack was pursued by The Shadow who sought to claim him but because of the Winchesters and Castiel, Jack was resurrected and returned to Earth.
Dean responded that Mary wouldn't want him to do such a thing, then told God to go to hell, and if that's not the most Dean Winchester way to end a season, I don't know what is. So, Chuck snapped his fingers, causing Jack's grace to leave him, killing Jack.
Supernatural 15x13 - Jack gets his soul back and says sorry to Sam and Dean for killing Mary!
Chuck provokes Sam and Dean to kill Jack but they won't do it and he kills Jack himself. He dies without a soul and is sent to The Empty. Billie resurrects him and he wanders the earth soulless with a plan to make a big sacrifice in order for Billie to put things to rights.
Billie resurrected Jack and sent him to Earth to feed on Grigori hearts in an effort to make him stronger so that eventually he'll be able to fight Chuck. He would have checked in with Cas and the Winchesters sooner, but he needed to lay low so that Chuck, who fears him, wouldn't find him and kill him again.
Eileen Leahy - Sam's final love (Season 15)
That is until Chuck wiped everyone from existence (“Despair”).
During his time with the Doctor, Jack matures into a hero, and in his final 2005 appearance, he sacrifices himself fighting the evil alien Daleks. Rose brings him back to life while suffused with the power of the time vortex, but when the power leaves her she doesn't remember doing it.
After going to Heaven, Dean is impressed and proud of the changes that Jack has made. Bobby Singer calls Jack Dean's kid while they talk and Dean doesn't say anything to the contrary, suggesting that Dean ultimately forgave Jack and came to see the young Nephilim as his family again.
Jack says he snapped and it was over quickly. He wishes it didn't happen. Dean is barely holding it together. He doesn't like that Jack is calling Mary's death, “the accident.” But he plays along and says they understand and they forgive Jack.
Supernatural Season 14 Episode 19.
Season 15. After escaping from Hell, Belphegor possesses Jack Kline's corpse. At first, the Winchesters think that Jack has come back to life, but Castiel is able to tell that it's actually a demon using Jack as a vessel.
After a soulless Jack kills Nick for trying to resurrect Lucifer, he accidentally kills Mary in a brief fit of rage. Mary is reunited with her husband in Heaven and is now at peace in a shared Heaven with John.
The Big Man Upstairs was defeated by Sam and Dean when they used Jack to steal all of his power, making Jack the new God and leaving Chuck (Rob Benedict) to live out a meaningless human life.
Castiel is a young Seraphim, former leader of his garrison, and youngest angel in all of Heaven. He is the husband of the demoness, Meg Master and widowed father of his daughter, Cassandra Masters.
And it left Jack as the new God, in harmony with the Darkness and present in every person and thing on earth. Jack's final speech to the boys was really beautiful, and I love the idea of him as a new God.
Jack uses his powers to heal Cas because the antidote obtained via the best plan of all time unfortunately doesn't work. When he tries to also heal Dean, though, Cas won't let him; he's confident Dean will heal (because he's Dean, and Dean is Dean) and Jack is being entirely too cavalier about his soul.
Jack wanted to be better than Chuck. He decided that in order to be better, he had to be fair which meant not saving Dean.
You've got Bobby, you've got Jack, you've got the fact that Sam is still on Earth, and here's Dean, literally in heaven trying to do things to protect the life his brother's living. So it furthers the lore. And then it opens the door to other characters, a different Sam and Dean, etc.

While it was nice to see Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) reunite in Heaven after a heartfelt Kansas-turned-Neoni rendition of the series' official/unofficial theme song "Carry On Wayward Son," it's no secret that not everyone was particularly happy with the show's ultimate conclusion.
Emma Winchester is the daughter of Dean Winchester and Lydia.
Dean and Sam killed by hunters (Season 5, Episode 16)
But, thankfully, the guys returned to the living after a memorable trip to Heaven.
