Green is the color between cyan and yellow on the visible spectrum. It is evoked by light which has a dominant wavelength of roughly 495–570 nm.
But the Jedi Grandmaster remained a formidable warrior, as Count Dooku and Darth Sidious discovered when they confronted Yoda in battle. Yoda's lightsaber was smaller than a standard Jedi lightsaber, befitting his shorter stature. But its green plasma blade was every bit as deadly in combat.
Inside the handle of the lightsaber is a green Adegan crystal recovered from the planet Ossus. It is this Kyber crystal used by many Jedi that gives the lightsaber blade its emerald color. To wield his short blade, Yoda must draw the hilt that he holds on his belt.
Generally, yellow lightsabers have been associated with ideas around balance in Star Wars. In Star Wars Legends, they were wielded by Jedi Sentinels, who sought to find balance between the other strands of the Order, the more peaceful and knowledgable Consulars and the combative Guardians.
Yoda kept a second lightsaber on Dagobah inside his hut in 3 ABY after his previous one was lost during a duel in the Galactic Senate against Darth Sidious and then incinerated during a celebration of the Jedi Order's eradication in 19 BBY.
The General and Obi-Wan dueled, and despite wielding four lightsabers at once, Grievous was dismembered and once again tried to flee. Obi-Wan gave chase, and the two eventually fought in a knock-down drag-out fist fight.
During his years as a Jedi, Obi-Wan Kenobi fought with three lightsabers.
Lightsaber Colors Used to Matter
A brief who's who of users with blue lightsabers includes Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luke Skywalker, Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen, pre-youngling slayer), Shaak Ti, and Count Dooku (Christopher Lee, pre-dark side/ass handed to him by Yoda).
Master Yoda has risen above all others to claim the top spot as the most powerful Jedi of all time and the true chosen one according to IGN's audience. He won pretty handily as well, as he was victorious in 89,756 of his 95,243 battles and had a win percentage of 94.2%.
Without a doubt, the most notable Jedi with a purple saber is Mace Windu, portrayed in the prequel trilogy by Samuel L. Jackson. Audiences first got a glimpse of the unusual blade in Episode II: Attack of the Clones, making Windu the coolest Jedi in one cinematic moment.
Black is the rarest lightsaber color in the world of Star Wars. For a while, the only known black lightsaber was the Darksaber, forged a thousand years ago and owned by a Mandalorian Jedi. However, the High Republic era revealed that at least one more Jedi had a black lightsaber.
Within the Star Wars Legends continuity, Yoda's Jedi instructor was N'Kata Del Gormo, a Hysalrian Jedi Master, according to an in-universe legend.
George Lucas Created Yoda's Speech For Practicality
All the words are there, but it's straight-up backward. It makes listeners focus, and it turns out that was exactly the point. George Lucas wanted viewers (and characters in the films) to hone in on what Yoda was saying because he was so full of wisdom.
Luke Skywalker's lightsaber was changed from blue to green when they were filming because it was difficult to see. This became apparent during act one of Return of the Jedi when the battle on Jabba the Hutt's sail barge was shot during the day. The blue lightsaber blended in with the clear blue sky.
At the end of Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker, we see that Rey has finally constructed her own lightsaber, having reached the end of a long journey and completed training with both Lukeand Leia.
When the Dark Lord used Force lightning to disarm him, Yoda lost the lightsaber, which fell to the ground below, but he recovered the weapon, and kept it in a box in his hut on Dagobah while in his exile.
Yoda found himself overpowered in battle against Darth Sidious, who would become Emperor Palpatine, but his wise retreat gave him time to mentor a new hope before ultimately succumbing to old age and passing into the Living Force on the planet Dagobah.
Both Jedi Master Yaddle, and now Grogu hold great force powers, but no Jedi Master has ever held greater power than Jedi Master Yoda. Throughout Star Wars canon, Yoda has shown off some incredibly impressive abilities.
Leia's lightsaber was a blue-bladed lightsaber used by Princess Leia Organa during her time as a Jedi Padawan training under her brother Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker.
Despite their biologic nature, rainbow gems could be used as lightsaber crystals. Tenel Ka Djo, the Princess of Hapes, had a tiara of rainbow gems worth the price of an entire solar system. She used some of the crystals in her second lightsaber, after her first one malfunctioned and led to the loss of her arm.
The Darksaber goes back to the time of Tarre Vizsla, the first Mandalorian to become a Jedi Knight. He created a one-of-a-kind lightsaber with a flat blade of dark, swirling energy. In the Star Wars Rebels episode “Trials of the Darksaber,” Fenn Rau shared more of the Mandalorian folklore surrounding the weapon.
Among the Jedi, Priapulin Master Skwelli was renowned for wielding six lightsabers.
Ahsoka Tano lightsaber style
As a Jedi, Ahsoka stood out thanks to her eventual adoption of a two-handed fighting style (know as Jar'Kai), in which she wielded a second lightsaber with a shorter blade (known as a shoto lightsaber) in her 'off' hand, in addition to her 'main' lightsaber.
Ventress fought with twin red-bladed lightsabers, and clashed with Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker many times. But her destiny would not lie with the Sith.
