I'm only hard of hearing, so I'm not deaf. I thought it was just a really wonderful thing, cause it is, it's always been a part of Clint's character in the comics, and we found a way to make it a truthful entry point for his life and how it affects it life. And now, there is a wonderful vulnerability that comes in.
A 2014 comic later revealed that Clint's deafness began due to abuse suffered during childhood. Neither of those backstories is adapted into Clint Barton's MCU series, which establishes that Hawkeye is deaf as a result of repeated trauma on Avengers missions.
First of all, the Hawkeye of Marvel Comics is a deaf character. In the early 1980s, a battle with a sonic-powered villain cost Clint 80 percent of his hearing.
The 50-year-old, from California, does not wear a hearing aid in real life.

In the opening scene of Endgame, when the camera pans out a little, you can spot an ankle monitor on Clint Barton. This is a leftover from Civil War. When Clint cut a deal after violating the Sokovia Accords, in order to return home, he was placed on house arrest — the ankle monitor was just part of that.
Hawkeye's ears were eventually healed, but the Fraction and Aja comics re-introduced his hearing aids, and later made him completely deaf by having him stabbed in the ears by the Clown.
In a 1983 Marvel miniseries, Barton becomes deaf after a sonic boom caused by the collision of sonic arrows fired by Hawkeye and the villain Crossfire. In other incarnations of the character, his hearing loss is as a result of abuse he suffered as a child.
He Learned Archery In The Circus
Hawkeye actually first learned how to use a bow and arrow as a circus act. He was trained by another circus performer named the Swordsman, who effectively turned Hawkeye into a master archer. He took those skills and became a star attraction with the circus.
So the MCU is going with the much more simple "He was exposed to lots of loud noises over the years and it eventually led to him losing his hearing." That makes sense, especially since the comic book origins of his hearing loss are a good deal more complicated.
It also brings the franchise's first deaf superhero. In the new film, Makkari possesses super speed and is one of the titular Eternals—immortal beings with special powers who were sent to Earth to protect humanity from monstrous Deviants.

Weaknesses: 80% deaf due to an injury sustained while in Crossfire's captivity, but his hearing was restored during his rebirth on Franklin Richards' Counter-Earth. He was again deafened by the Clown, who jammed Hawkeye's own arrows into both of Hawkeye's ears, causing damage to the middle and inner ears.
Clint Barton has been documented to shoot up to 29 arrows per minute, just shy of one every two seconds. That might not seem all that impressive but firing an arrow requires retrieving it, knocking it, pulling back, and releasing.
