Snape is a proven genius in potions, he can even go toe to toe with Voldemort in Occlumency/Legillimency! He would have been more than welcome in Ravenclaw house. He was sorted into Slytherin because his mother was sorted there, and we all know the sorting hat takes your opinion into account.
Severus was Sorted into Ravenclaw, thankfully avoiding being sorted into Slytherin, as that would put a strain on his relationship with his best friend and true love, Lily Evans.
Severus Snape was Head of Slytherin House, Potions Master and Harry's least favourite teacher. From the first moment of meeting, these two never met eye to eye, with Snape often being condescending and cruel to anyone that wasn't his own Slytherin students.
Snape always wanted to be a Slytherin. For him, his genius and creativity wasn't about that nature per se, but what it could give him. A Ravenclaw learns for the sake of learning, for curiosity's sake. And while Snape had the potential for that, that's not how he applied himself.
However, I know from the books themselves that Snape favoured his own house over all the other houses. Even before teaching he held a bias towards Slytherin, much like how Ron held a bias against Slytherin when he first arrived.
J.K. Rowling also branded Ravenclaws as “the most individual” (take that other houses!). Along with this, Ravenclaws are eccentric and creative. Perhaps the most recognizable Ravenclaw in the Harry Potter series, Luna Lovegood is certainly eccentric.
Albus Dumbledore:
He wears half-moon spectacles and a long purple cloak. He has a scar on his left knee which is a perfect map of the London Underground. As a schoolboy, he was in Gryffindor house.
Not content with having so much Hogwarts paraphernalia already, Lord Voldemort was able to secure the tiara of the Ravenclaw house founder, Rowena, whose daughter Helena was murdered at the hands of Slytherin's house ghost, the Bloody Baron.
It was confirmed on Pottermore that Hermione was also a bit of a Hatstall, as the Sorting Hat saw the potential for her to be both Ravenclaw and Gryffindor. In the end, Gryffindor won out, and it's possible that Hermione wanted to be seen for being brave more than for her intelligence.
Although Snape may not have projected his memory of James onto Harry, he still would have been predisposed to dislike him by virtue of him being James Potter's son. Harry being in Slytherin would not have changed this fact.
Moaning Myrtle
Born in the late 1920s to Muggle parents, Myrtle Warren started her Hogwarts life in the early 1940s, where she was sorted into Ravenclaw.
But when they went to Hogwarts, everything changed. The pair were parted when the Sorting Hat placed Severus in Slytherin and Lily in Gryffindor, and while Lily thrived in her new, magical life, Snape was essentially placed in close quarters with the likes of Lucius Malfoy, Avery and Mulciber.
At Hogwarts, she, along with her sisters, was sorted into Slytherin. It is suggested in the novels that, as a student, Bellatrix associated with a group of students – including Rodolphus Lestrange, Severus Snape, Avery, Evan Rosier and Wilkes – who nearly all became Death Eaters.
He was a Gryffindor
Hagrid's Hogwarts house is never mentioned in the books, but, given his kindness, noble nature and bravery, it might not come as that much of a surprise that Hagrid was in Gryffindor.
Ginny is a pureblood witch born 11 August 1981, the seventh child and only daughter of Arthur and Molly Weasley. She attends Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and is sorted into Gryffindor house, along with the rest of her family.
Ron Weasley
Being Harry Potter's best friend certainly needed heaps of bravery – hence the Sorting Hat not messing around in sorting Ron into Gryffindor, the house of his parents, brothers and sister.
In general, Hufflepuff as the worst Hogwarts house has contributed nothing of note to the world of magic, though Newt Scamander would be a notable exception to that, however he is one of a very short list outside of him and Helga Hufflepuff herself.
In true Ravenclaw fashion, Luna is an independent thinker and is never afraid to correct others. Despite being overlooked and often mocked by her peers, she never once doubts herself. She has the strength to believe in herself and her own wisdom – a trait which makes Luna Lovegood a true Ravenclaw.
Dumbledore began attending Hogwarts in the autumn of 1892 and was Sorted into Gryffindor house.
Draco had several reasons for lying to Bellatrix, including the fact that he was never a bad person. Moreover, he no longer found working for the Dark Lord appealing and hated how Voldemort treated his family. He did not intend to harm anyone and believed Harry was the only person capable of defeating Voldemort.
ENEMIES. Slytherins and Ravenclaws - Slytherins hate rules and Ravenclaws are ingenious. Together they can take over the world or create amazing spells. Or they can hate eachother with a fury and rage.
Bellatrix Lestrange (1951—2 May, 1998) also known as Bella, was a pure-blood witch, the daughter of Cygnus and Druella Black and elder sister to Andromeda and Narcissa. She attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 1962 and was sorted into Slytherin house.
1 Rowena Ravenclaw
As one of the most famous Ravenclaws, Rowena built her house on the ideals she valued and embodied — intelligence and creativity.
She's seen as a bit absent-minded, is easily distracted, and is extremely eccentric in both her disposition and general outward appearance. But that's what makes her a perfect Ravenclaw. She loves learning, but unlike many of her housemates (or Hermione, for that matter), she can never know enough.
