In real life, though, it turns out there is someone quite a bit like Rip's portrayer Cole Hauser — and that's his own
“Yellowstone” actor Cole Hauser will soon have a reason to visit Fort Worth regularly. Hauser, who plays Rip Wheeler on the hit Paramount Network show, announced that his son — Ryland Hauser — is attending Texas Christian University in the fall.
John calls Rip "son" in the flashback scene at the beginning of the episode, and later Rip affectionately refers to Carter as "son" too.
Although things seem to be going into turmoil for the Duttons, Beth Dutton's (Kelly Reilly) adopted son Carter (Fin Little) could soon find love.
Beth Dutton is a fan favorite in the Yellowstone series because of her strong will and loyalty to her family. Now, one of the questions that new fans have is where her kids are. So, does Beth Dutton have kids? The simple answer is no.
After barely surviving the explosive assassination attempt on her life, Beth met teenager Carter (Finn Little) outside the hospital where he was visiting his no-good dying father in the first episode of Season 4. Arrested for shoplifting later, Carter tells the police that Beth is his guardian.
In Season One, Beth took in Carter, but in the season finale, wouldn't let him call her mom. Rough! “America went after me for that!” Reilly told TVLine. “I was like, 'That's the character, not me!
Just like Rip Wheeler before him, Carter eventually settles into life at the ranch and decides to call it home. While Yellowstone has plenty of longtime stars returning for the upcoming season, Finn is a newer addition to the show.
Being Chosen by John
In season two, there's an uncharacteristically soft moment between John and Beth regarding Rip and his roles on the ranch, as well as in the family. In the finale of season two, John gives Beth a letter that says he accepts Rip as a son and that he's also gifting Rip a house on the ranch.
No, Carter is not Beth and Rip's son. Carter is Beth's son from a previous marriage. Rip only adopted Carter when he married Beth and has become a father figure to Carter. Even though Rip and Carter are not biologically related, the two share a close bond, and both consider each other as family.
In season 4 of Yellowstone, Beth (Kelly Reilly) befriends a young orphan named Carter (Finn Little) as the two await news of their respective fathers, both clinging to life. The chubby-cheeked boy found his way into Beth and Rip's (Cole Hauser) life after sadly childless Beth took him in.
Wings Hauser - Father
Gerald Dwight Hauser is Cole's father, and he is an actor and director who is known by the alias 'Wings'. The 72-year-old is an award-winning actor who has previously starred in Tough Guys Don't Dance, The Young and The Restless, Kingpin and Tales from the Hood.
She adopted a son (Carter) after finally marrying Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) in season four. Rip and Beth have always had a rocky, toxic relationship. Now, tasked with the immense responsibilities of being parents for the first time, many audience members feel like they are failing, and badly.
Cole Hauser plays Rip Wheeler in Yellowstone. Rip is the unofficially adopted son of John Dutton. In flashbacks, Rip was revealed to have fled to the ranch after his mother and brother got murdered by his stepdad. Rip killed his stepdad, but the wounds of not saving his family left an indelible mark on him.
As has also been explored in flashbacks, the Dutton family matriarch (played by Gretchen Mol) died during a horse riding accident while out with a young Beth and her other living brother, Kayce (Luke Grimes).
After telling Carter he can have a pair of boots, a hat, and a practical pair of jeans, Beth is infuriated by Carter's insistence on buying a fancy, embroidered Western shirt.
He just went through a serious growth spurt. Somehow between filming the two seasons, he went from a child actor into a teenager who literally looks like he's nearly old enough to buy his own beer.
Rip saving Beth's life
She manages to get a text sent to Rip saying "office help" just before they start savagely beating her and her assistant, Jason.
Beth's Treatment of Carter
Since Beth now has a husband and still can't have kids, she's essentially adopted Carter, who reminds them both of a young Rip. But when Carter calls her mom, she practically tears his head off, sending poor Carter, a kid desperately in need of love, away crying.
After Jamie learned about his adoption, he asked Kayce for a favor, saying, “I need some advice, brother… If I can still call you that.” Kayce replies to him, “Until the day you die, you better never call me anything else.” This implies that Kayce had an inkling about the adoption.
It's no secret that throughout her appearance in Yellowstone, Beth's mother, Evelyn Dutton was tough on her. It led to many fans thinking that she hated her. However, that doesn't seem to be the case at all. It turns out she was hard on her because she wanted to toughen her up.
Lee may have initially been the favorite, but Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) was the prodigal son. John probably didn't react in the best way when he branded him with the Yellowstone 'Y' after Kayce told him that he was in love with a pregnant Monica Long (Kelsey Asbille), but time heals all wounds.
