He is initially presented as an abusive "bad sheriff", but he is not a malevolent character - he wants nothing more than to save his family, and is willing to work with the counselors to achieve this.

(Chapter 10) Laura Kills Silas
Upon arriving at the Freakshow, Laura, Travis, and Ryan will find Silas hiding in his nest. When nearing the nest, have Laura raise the gun and shoot Silas, ending the curse for good.
You only need Laura, Jacob, Abigail, Dylan, Ryan, Emma, Nick, Kaitlyn, and Max to survive in order to get the 'Rough Night' Trophy, but if you want to ensure nobody dies in The Quarry except for a few unavoidable deaths, you're going to have to do the QTE's yourself.

However, much like all characters in The Quarry, with the right choices and decisions across each Chapter, it is entirely possible for Nick to be saved and ultimately cured of the werewolf curse.
7 Nick: The Nice Guy
Nick is the closest thing to an Everyman in The Quarry, with him being fairly unremarkable in terms of defining character traits. He's considered by the group as a nice guy with many of the characters rooting for him and Abigail to finally act upon their mutual crush.

A boisterous frat boy type who all but incited the entire murder spree to start the game, Jacob Custos (Zach Tinker) is easily the least likable camp counselor. He's loud, brash, obnoxious, does not listen or heed any advice, and as a result of his ignorance, has at least eight potential deaths in the game.
It is still possible to save Dylan if the monster bites his hand by using Ryan to amputate it before the infection spreads. This is best done by choosing the CONFIDENT dialogue option and then the CHAINSAW to successfully cut Dylan's arm off.
Don't Remove The Knife, Get Bitten
It will be inevitable that Ryan will get stabbed by Bobby. Make sure you do not pull out the weapon — this will eventually result in Ryan dying from blood loss.
If you hide, or miss any QTEs, the worst will happen. If you choose to hide and go to the kitchen, this will kill off both Kaitlyn and Dylan no matter your decisions. So, make sure to run!
Laura Refuses to Kill Silas - The Curse Remains
As a result of this ending, should Caleb be trapped in the freezer during Chapter 10, he'll survive the night after returning to human form. It is revealed in the character summary that his werewolf powers managed to keep him alive during the freezing temperatures.
To save Silas, don't shoot him with Laura in the final chapter in his lair. This action causes Travis, Laura, and Ryan to die, and the infection will continue to spread through Hackett's Quarry. Saving him leads to you failing to complete the best « Rough Night » ending.
It is best to shoot and kill Silas rather than sparing him.
