Thor: Love and Thunder is a 2022 American superhero film based on Marvel Comics featuring the character Thor. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is the sequel to
Chris Hemsworth has said if there is another Thor film, it will “probably” be the last. The actor, 39 – who has portrayed the Marvel character in four standalone films – suggested that it may be time to hang up the red cape.
Thor 5 Is Unconfirmed
There are currently 10 upcoming MCU movies scheduled for the MCU's Phase 5 and 6, with many more unscheduled movies such as Armor Wars also confirmed. Thor 5 is not among them, and hasn't yet been given a nod by Kevin Feige, Disney, or Marvel.
Even without Hemsworth wanting to step down from the role, Marvel has been planning possible replacements for Thor for a while. As it stands, there are three potential candidates in the form of Love, a returning Mighty Thor, and an as-yet unseen Beta Ray Bill.
Chris Hemsworth has said he's open to doing more, but only if a unique story is there. “I'd like to exit before people tell me to exit,” he told Total Film. So, we'll have to wait and see. Speaking to Vanity Fair in November 2022, though, Hemsworth did say he thinks his next outing as Thor should be the last.
Jane Foster is Thor's latest successor, both in the comics and in the MCU. Mjölnir adopted Jane as its master in the midst of her battle with cancer.
Thor is Immortal, Not Invincible
Thor is more or less immortal, granted the gift of everlasting life, thanks to his Asgardian genes and his special diet of the Apples of Idunn.
Chris Hemsworth is getting ready to say goodbye to Thor. The longtime MCU staple and “Thor: Love and Thunder” star revealed that after four standalone films and over 10 years as the God of Thunder, it may be time to bid farewell to the role.
Following his announcement that he's taking a break from acting, MCU star Chris Hemsworth has also revealed he's ready to "close the book" on his time as Thor. Speaking to Variety, the actor said he would want his next potential appearance in the MCU to be Thor's final chapter.
Whether that ends up being a fifth Thor film, another Marvel movie or even an appearance in a Marvel series such as Loki season 2, we're just relieved to know Thor: Love and Thunder was not Hemsworth's last MCU project! Are you relieved to know that Chris Hemsworth will return as Thor in the MCU?
The God of Thunder is about to meet the Prince of Power.
Thor: Love and Thunder reveals that Zeus (Russell Crowe) and his fellow Greek gods do, in fact, exist in the MCU. So it comes as little surprise that the sequel ends with a mid-credits scene that introduces the most famous Olympian of them all - Hercules.
Zeus is the secondary antagonist of the 2022 Marvel Cinematic Universe film Thor: Love and Thunder, while also being a character previously mentioned in the 2011 film Thor. He is the Greek God of the Sky and the head of the Council of Godheads in Omnipotence City, and the former idol of Thor Odinson.
Is Thor immortal? In Norse Mythology, Thor is not immortal. He does not age, thanks to the goddess Idunn and her magical apples, but he can and will die when Ragnarok comes. With the exception of a very few, all the Norse gods will die at Ragnarok.
Meanwhile, talking about 'Thor: Love and Thunder', Chris is returning to the Marvel saga with a new journey post 'Avengers: Endgame', the second last film of phase 3 which waved good bye to the big heroes of the franchise like Iron Man, Captain America and Black Widow.
Michael Douglas is the latest Marvel actor to talk about exiting the cinematic franchise. The two-time Oscar-winning actor has been playing Ant-Man's mentor Hank Pym since the first movie in the trilogy in 2015.
As a result, the shortest answer to the question what will be the next movie featuring Thor after Love and Thunder is probably Avengers The Kang Dynasty. This is the next big team-up movie for the MCU, so it's pretty much locked on for Odinson to feature in it in a pretty big way.
Chris Hemsworth said he might not do it again.
“It was just exhausting,” Hemsworth said. “I don't know, maybe I'm getting old, but things just started to hurt more.”
Chris Evans addresses potential MCU return following Captain America 4 rumours. "It doesn't quite feel right, right now." Marvel hero Chris Evans believes it's still too early for a Steve Rogers return to the big screen.
Tom Holland will be reprising his Spider-Man role within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige says they are already working on his comeback.
Unlike Ragnarok, Love and Thunder Fails to Balance Comedy and Storytelling. Another huge reason why Thor: Love and Thunder did not land with audiences is because of the sub-par writing and storytelling.
While talking at length about his post-Iron Man ventures with Daniel Roth (via LinkedIn), Downey said he wanted to focus on his philanthropic work and didn't have the time while working long hours on MCU sets. "I'm not just going to lay around and sit in my trailer between setups anymore," the actor explained.
Sorry, Iron Man fans, Robert Downey Jr. really isn't going to be re-appearing in any future Marvel movies. Although Tony Stark met his heroic end in Avengers: Endgame, many had held out the hope that he could still be reintroduced in some way in future movies.
Thanos has god-like powers, which means he is definitely more powerful than any person on Earth and a good part of the galaxy. However, he is not a god. This was probably why Thor was not given a chance to defeat Thanos in the movie.
But when it comes down to it, Thor is the one hero who can truly claim to be the strongest Avenger in the MCU! It's actually not that surprising that AI ended up choosing Thor as the strongest Avenger, as many consider Thor to be the most powerful of the Avengers — and for a good reason.
Superhuman Stamina: His stamina is almost limitless. Thor survives the Time Stone of time. While still aging physically, he retains his youthful appearance far longer than humans, barely changed after Thanos used the Time Stone to age by several centuries, and will only grow stronger the older he gets.
