A regular walk is vitally important for your pet's health too.
The answer is yes. If you're one of the 5.4 million dog-owning households that walks their pet, the chances are you'll do more exercise than those that don't, and that can make a big difference. Light activity such as dog walking has been shown to be beneficial and counts towards your exercise goals.

And dogs who aren't getting enough exercise become something worse than couch potatoes. “If you're not walking your dog enough or providing them with enough playtime, they can become anxious or destructive,” says Dr. Sara Ochoa, a veterinarian at Whitehouse Veterinary Hospital.
