Aim to massage your gums for ten minutes, but stop sooner if you feel your gums getting sore. If you don't want to purchase a special gum massage tool, then you can massage your gums with your fingers.
You can use your index finger to massage your gums, a soft-bristled brush, or a gum stimulator. A gum stimulator or gum massager is useful as it has fine, soft points that effectively reach and clean hard-to-reach areas of the mouth.
Gently massaging your gums can help to break up any tissue or bacteria that are contributing to any pain that you may be experiencing.
You have to massage the gums in a circular motion. If it is the lower jaw, then you should go in a circular motion, in an upward direction. If it is the upper jaw, then you should go in a circular motion, in a downward motion. That means it is a vice versa procedure.
Even in healthy mouths, better blood flow helps to accelerate healing, fight infection and improve overall health. If your gums are a little bit sore, it can alleviate pain. And, last but not least, it can dislodge any pesky food debris not removed through brushing or flossing.

Hot or Cold Compress
Perhaps one of the easiest ways to relieve painful gums is by applying compresses on your gums to ease the pain. Either hot or cold compresses will suffice, or a combination of the two.
Healthy gums should fit snugly around each tooth, with the distance between the gum tissue and its attachment to the tooth only one to three millimeters in depth.
Gum recession treatment largely depends on what caused the condition. Mild cases of gum recession may be improved with nonsurgical treatments, such as topical antibiotics, dental bonding or orthodontics. In most instances, however, gum recession surgery is needed to fully correct the problem.
Advanced gum disease can cause the gums to pull away from the teeth. Gum disease is treatable when caught early, and if your loose tooth is the result of gum disease, there's a chance that it could tighten back up with treatment and better hygiene practices.
If you aggressively brush your teeth, it can cause enamel to wear away, which can lead to gum recession too. Proper oral hygiene helps ensure your oral health stays at its best at all times.
