Meet the Tardigrade – The Toughest Animal on Earth.
These would be alligators and crocodiles, with the Salt Water Croc topping off the list. Out in the ocean we have sharks, killer whales and the good ol giant squid. In mammals we have to consider one family with the meanest attitude of them all, namely the badger/wolverine family.
According to the Independent, honey badgers have been described in the Guinness Book of Records as the "most fearless animal in the world" and can even fight off much larger predators like lions and hyenas.
In brute strength, elephants are the strongest mammals and the strongest land animals. African elephants can weigh up to 6,350kg and they can carry up to 9,000kg, the weight of 130 adult humans.
The honey badger has been called the world's most fearless animal because it doesn't hesitate to attack animals much larger than itself- even lions and crocodiles! Honey badgers are found in arid grasslands and savannahs and even rainforests.
1. Dung Beetle. A dung beetle is not only the world's strongest insect but also the strongest animal on the planet compared to body weight. They can pull 1,141 times their own body weight.
In the battle of the grizzly bear vs tiger, a Siberian tiger would win a fight against a grizzly bear. The Siberian tiger is an ambush predator, and it's the only big cat that comes close to the grizzly bear in terms of size and power.
Key Points. Elephants and rhinos are the animals most likely to kill lions. The humble porcupine is a threat to mighty lions. A crocodile is an animal that will attempt to prey on lions.
In terms of the number of humans killed every year, mosquitos by far hold the record, being responsible for between 725,000 and 1,000,000 deaths annually.
Rats and house cats were the easiest presumed pushovers, with two-thirds of participants claiming they could see one off, while grizzly bears, elephants and lions were rightfully respected – only 2 per cent of pollsters claimed they would be able to take one down.
If there is one animal that could bring down a full-grown hippo in a fight, it is an adult elephant. Elephants have the size and strength advantage over the hippo, and their tusks give them superior reach. Match that with a roaring charge and there is nothing that will not stop one!
Wild animals like lions, tigers, etc. cannot be tamed in the house as pet animals as they are wild by nature.
Grizzly Bears have 20 claws, several inches in length, one on each toe of their four feet. Silverback Gorillas have nails on their fingers and toes like humans. The grizzly would more than likely win in a fight against a Silverback gorilla.
Tiger Predators: Crocodile
Crocodiles have enough jaw power to kill a tiger with one bite. A crocodile can eat a tiger if given the opportunity. While big cats aren't usually part of a croc's diet, they will eat anything if they are hungry enough.
The only predator to prey on gorillas is the leopard. Walter Baumgärtel found the remains of several gorillas after they had been killed by leopards in the Virunga Volcanoes. Another case has been confirmed in Gabon, where a sick young gorilla was killed by a leopard.
An elephant would undoubtedly beat any other land animal in a fight.
Aside from humans, lions are the only predators powerful enough to kill an elephant. The males, being 50% heavier than the females, are especially suited to the task. It typically takes seven lionesses to kill an elephant, but just two males could do the same. Even a single male can overpower a young elephant.
Lions have famously acquired the title of 'King of the Jungle'.
African Bush Elephant
African bush elephants are the world's largest land animals, and the strongest mammals, able to carry up to 9,000 kg – the weight of 130 humans!
CHIMPANZEES. RECKONED to be the most-intelligent animals on the planet, chimps can manipulate the environment and their surroundings to help themselves and their community. They can work out how to use things as tools to get things done faster, and they have outsmarted people many a time.
Too Weak to Support Its Own Body Weight: The Jellyfish
Almost every living creature on the planet has at least the strength to support its own body and move around. One exception to this is the jellyfish that is one of the weakest animals.
