Mesomorphs tend to be athletic and strong due to their high muscle-to-fat ratio, which might give them a muscular chest, shoulders, and limbs. Their weight distribution around the body is usually relatively even. People with a mesomorph-type body gain muscle and weight easily.
Mesomorphs. Naturally muscular, mesomorphs typically have moderate-size frames, with wider shoulders and a narrow waist, strong arms and legs, and modest amounts of body fat.
The Ectomorph Body
The limbs are often long and thin with front drooping shoulders making them even look smaller. They naturally have lower strength and can expect to gain muscle slower but will also not likely gain extra fat.
Mesomorph: This body type is generally considered the ideal body type. Individuals usually look lighter and have a more rectangular bone structure, longer limbs, thinner bones and a flatter ribcage.
The arms and legs of the extreme endomorph are short in length and taper. This may give the appearance of stalkiness. The hands and feet of the endomorph are comparatively small, and the upper arms and thighs are often more developed than the lower parts of the arms or legs. The body has a high waist.
Although they do not need restrictive diets to lose weight or gain muscle, mesomorphs can still put on body fat.
The Mesomorph Body Type. The mesomorph is somewhere between the round endomorph and the thin ectomorph. Physically, they have the more 'desirable' body, and have: Large head, broad shoulders, and narrow waist (wedge-shaped).
The pear body shape is characterised by large hips which are wider than the bust and shoulders. This makes the body appear like a pear shape.
The ratio of body fat to lean muscle mass. A skinny person can have very small muscles, but have a decent amount of fat. They still look skinny, but their body fat percentage compared to their lean body mass is high. This is what causes flabby arm fat, but still being skinny.
Pear Shape. The main characteristic of Pear shape are: A defined waist. Larger hips and thighs.
Your body shape is dictated largely by your genes. If you have a genetic predisposition to accumulate body fat in your upper arms, that's one reason you'll see weight gain there — and one reason it can be so hard to shed those pounds, even with plenty of exercise and dieting.
Ecto-Mesomorphs This body type is lean and muscular. Meso-Endomorphs This person is strong but the muscles aren't well defined, as in a football player. But you don't need to be a football player to have this body type — in fact, it's more common than you may think.
Endomorphs body type
Endomorphs typically have higher levels of body fat and have a difficult time losing weight and they also have a wider physique when compared to ectomorphs and mesomorphs. If you have wider hips, shorter limbs, and a thicker ribcage, you most likely are an endomorph.
Ectomorphs are long and lean, with little body fat, and little muscle. They have a hard time gaining weight.
Ectomorphs are the body type that is the most resistant to weight gain because of a fast metabolism. In other words, ectomorphs are often able to overeat while gaining little or even no weight. People with this body type have little observable body fat, are only lightly muscled, and have a small frame (and joints).
Ectomorph women often have small breasts. Ectomorph and weight loss: Ectomorphs tend to have fast metabolisms, meaning they burn calories quickly and easily. As a result, it's harder for them to gain weight.
Bone Thickness Ratio = Wrist Circumference / Height
If the number you get is smaller than 0.1045, you have thin wrist bones, which is a sign that you're an ectomorph.
Top hourglass body shape
Considered to be the most attractive body shape, this is very similar to hourglass body shape, except that in this case the curves are more defined.
Inverted triangle body shape - Also known as V shape – broad shoulders that are wider than your waist, hips, and legs.
What is an hourglass figure? Women who have this type of body have shoulders and hips of proportional width and a defined waist. It's a very desirable, proportionate and feminine type of body. Almost anything fitted around the waist and bosoms looks good because they accentuate a very ladylike silhouette.
Pear shape
How to tell if you're a pear: “Your hips are wider than your shoulders,” Roché says, “They are also wider than your bust, making them the widest area of your body.
Ectomorphs are usually characterised by being tall and slim and are naturally low in body fat. Think Kendall Jenner of the Kardashians.
Endomorphs generally carry more body fat, while mesomorphs are generally leaner and more naturally fit by comparison. An endomorph's body tends to be slightly chubby and softer, whereas that of a mesomorph is more muscular and harder.
Mesomorph body types often can lose weight quickly when following a meal plan that is higher in protein and lower in carbohydrates, and when they are getting plenty of exercise. However, mesomorphs gain weight just as quickly if their eating plan contains too many calories from high-sugar foods.
