Ectomorphs are the body type that is the most resistant to weight gain because of a fast metabolism. In other words, ectomorphs are often able to overeat while gaining little or even no weight. People with this body type have little observable body fat, are only lightly muscled, and have a small frame (and joints).
Mesomorphs and endomorphs both gain weight quickly, whereas ectomorphs find it more difficult to gain weight. Another factor is muscle gain. Mesomorphs and endomorphs gain muscle quickly, while ectomorphs do not.

These are the naturally slim body types which have the highest metabolic rates. These individuals are characterised by small bone structure, small shoulders, lean muscle mass, and flat chest. People with this body type find it extremely difficult to gain weight and have a faster metabolism.
Endomorphs have softer bodies with curves. They have a wide waist and hips and large bones, though they may or may not be overweight. Their weight is often in their hips, thighs, and lower abdomen. Endomorphs often have lots of body fat and muscle and tend to gain weight easily.
Ectomorph: This type is often characterized by a tall, slim build. People with an ectomorph body type are lean and may have a narrow frame. Some find it hard to gain weight because of their fast metabolism. In order to gain weight, they have to take in higher amounts of calories than the average person.
– Regular physical activity: If you consistently burn off more calories than you consume you will struggle to keep a stable weight. – Insufficient calories: If your busy lifestyle means you regularly skip meals, or if you aren't getting enough calories in your diet, you may find it difficult to gain weight.
Part of the reason for skinny, but strong is the number of reps. Too many—12 or more, improves endurance, not bulk. Too few, three reps or fewer, gives you power and strength but not muscle growth. Not working to metabolic fatigue will keep you strong but skinny, too.
