Booklice are soft and have two pairs of wings with long antennae. They tend to hop around and you may find these tiny dots appearing on wet and moist spaces including crawl spaces, books, tiles and basement.
Can Scabies Mites Be Seen? Most people with scabies only carry 10 to 15 mites at any given time, and each mite is less than half a millimeter long. This makes them very difficult to spot. To the naked eye, they may look like tiny black dots on the skin.
Mealybugs. Mealybugs are small, soft-bodied insects that typically measure 1/10 to ¼ of an inch in length. They have a white, waxy coating on their bodies which gives them the appearance of lint or dust particles.
If you have found mice poop, you will see small seed-like droppings that range between ⅛ and ¼ of an inch. Mouse excrement is always found near where they like to adventure, usually where food is, so your kitchen is a likely place to find mouse poop.
“Powderpost beetle” is a term used to describe several species of small (1/8-3/4 inch long) insects that reduce wood to a flour-like powder (Figure 1). The developing grub-like larvae inflict damage as they create narrow, meandering tunnels in wood as they feed.
They probably look like bits of dirt at first glance, but they are actually tiny soil animals known as snow fleas. Officially, they are called springtails and are not actually fleas (or even technically insects).
Rat droppings are usually a shiny dark brown or black colour and they look like small pellets. Each dropping is typically between 12 and 18 millimetres long.
If you spot strange piles of tiny pellets resembling sawdust around your home, you might be dealing with a drywood termite infestation. These mounds of multi-colored droppings, ranging from light brown to black, are called frass and look like sand mixed with soil or coffee grounds.
Large milkweed bugs are in a family of true bugs called “seed bugs.” They're called seed bugs because they feed on seeds. Here, several nymphs of the large milkweed bug (Oncopeltus fasciatus) suck the juices of a developing common milkweed seed pod.
Mites are tiny bugs in the tick and spider family. They get blamed for a lot of mysterious itching or biting symptoms because they are so tiny and hard to spot. There are thousands of different species of mites, and each species has different eating, biting, and bloodsucking habits.
Demodex, a genus of tiny parasitic mites that live in or near hair follicles of mammals, are among the smallest of arthropods with two species Demodex folliculorum and Demodex brevis typically found on humans. Infestation with Demodex is common; prevalence in healthy adults varying between 23-100%.
If one looked at dust mite adults under a microscope, their yellowish, white and brownish coloration and the presence of setae, their stiff bristle-like hairs, would be visible. Dust mite adults have 8 legs, unlike insect adults that have 6 legs, and their body is globular shaped.
What do clover mites look like? If you've ever noticed a tiny red dot on your concrete patio, siding panel, or shrubbery, only to discover that the tiny red dot was moving, you've probably seen a clover mite. These teensy little guys are only about 1/30th of an inch long—usually smaller than a pinhead.
There are also false chinch bugs that are 1/8 of an inch long and are a brownish gray color. They have an X on their backs, but if you're looking at them at your home they will just look like a bunch of coffee grounds. Chinch bugs do not fly. So you will see them climbing on the walls and things, but not flying around.
These fecal pellets are expelled from drywood termite nests through small holes that are about 1 to 2 mm in diameter. The frass is excreted by the termites as they feed in their feeding galleries and is typically found in small mounds that some describe as looking like sawdust or coffee grounds.
Pellet-shaped poop
If the appearance of your poop is shaped in small, dry, round and often hard balls (similar to nuts or animal droppings) and is hard to pass, this is often a clear indication of constipation. You may be left feeling bloated and experience abdominal discomfort.
Cockroach droppings are easy to spot, making them one of the most common forms of roach evidence. Smaller roaches leave behind brown or black specs which range in appearance from coarse coffee grains to finely ground black pepper.
The most common cause of black and tarry poop is taking iron supplements or a medication containing bismuth, such as Pepto-Bismol. However, it could mean you're losing blood somewhere in your gastrointestinal tract, such as in the stomach or small intestine.

What is the size of a pencil dot, can climb walls, enter through screens and leave red stains if crushed? The answer is clover mites. Clover mites are very tiny mites (about 0.75 mm) that are usually reddish in colour but can also be olive green or rusty brown.
They are usually black or green in color and have long antennae. Soil mites are much smaller than root aphids and are reddish-brown or yellow in color. They have short antennae and small eyes. Both root aphids and soil mites produce a sticky secretion which they use to attach themselves to plants.
Most of the bugs on our bodies are mites. You can look as closely as you'd like, but you won't see them with the naked eye! Mites are microscopic. The smallest one is only one third as wide as a human hair.
