“The best eye shadow shades for gray hair are taupe, navy, brown, and plums,” says celebrity makeup artist, Nydia Figueroa. And if you're looking to add brightness, choose one with “a bone matte color or even a color that is a little brighter than your skin tone to pull the look together,” Figueroa explains.
While neutral colors may have worked well for you in the past, Brown advises that with gray hair, nude tones will leave you looking washed out. "You need pops of color, there's no question," she said. Instead, she encourages hues that fall within the rosy pink family.
AVOID: WASHED OUT TONES
You want to avoid shades that are too similar to your natural coloring; beiges, creams, off-whites, stone grays, taupes, etc. These colors will only wash you out and emphasize your gray tones.
Go for a rich red in a cream formula. Some brands have a built-in anti-aging serum that treats and conditions your lips while giving you rich, flattering color. There's a perfect red for every woman; those with gray hair look best in clear reds or those with a blue base. Conversely, brown undertones can add years.
Stay in the pink.
Instead of trying to play down your natural gray color, highlight it with a soft lily or pink rose blush that brightens your complexion, enhances your cheekbones and harmonizes with your silver locks. Stay away from dark, bright red colors and bronzers. Both these can make you look clownish.
Chocolate, deep caramel and toffee, rich auburn reds and deep blonde tones all work, but try to avoid going too light or insipid feeling with colours. Grey is usually naturally warm, and it's usually best to embrace and even enhance this rather than trying to cool things down with blue tones.

Even if you do have cool-toned skin, don't let it stop you from experimenting with gold. Gold jewellery set against grey hair – both white-greys and dark greys – looks striking and powerful; something worthy of your status.
Jewel Tones

Grey blending is a subtle way of handling your greying hair. It is an approach that blends the grey with colours similar to your natural hair tone. It's an option that allows you to embrace and enhance your greying hair, rather than hiding it. Your natural hair colour is the inspiration for the final effect.
For warm skin tones and grey hair, soft and smoky shades are ideal colors. Think a rose or other dusty pink, or a soft neutral like beige.

Gloss treatments and violet toner can help keep hair shiny silver. If you don't want to visit the salon for toner, you can do a bit of toning at home. "Use a purple shampoo or conditioner to counteract the brassy undertones in your white hair," Dr. Chacon suggested.
Don't go for really bright colours, but some jewel tones will help the earrings to shine through your hair without looking garish. Find earrings with some sparkle, particularly if they are just in a metal such as silver, as it helps them to cut through the hair and draw light and attention up to your face.
It is recommended to wear jewelry that carries mint, lavender, rose red, and taupe shades. With such a selection of shades, you will be able to enhance your grey hair's tone. In addition, it is best to wear vibrant jewelry colors with grey hair.
