There are six
Space Stone (blue)
The obvious explanation is that he couldn't sacrifice something that he loved because he was isolated, but there may be more to the story than that.
The Soul Stone was one of the six Infinity Stones, the remnant of a singularity that predated the universe, representing the element of soul. Kept on Vormir and under the protection of Red Skull since 1945, the Soul Stone was acquired by Thanos in 2018 after he sacrificed Gamora.
"One key moment where it's used is where Doctor Strange turns into multiple Stranges and then Thanos uses the Soul Stone to eradicate all the fake Stranges and momentarily shoves Strange out of his own body," Russo said.
However, while each Infinity Stone can accomplish amazing feats and displays of power, the Soul Stone has a strong case for being the most powerful of the six.
What is the seventh Infinity Stone? Earlier this month, Marvel Comics confirmed the existence of a seventh Infinity Stone, the Black Stone. Its existence was confirmed in Thanos: Death Notes #1 – Dead by Rumor, a new comic book series one-shot featuring Thanos that kicked off on November 30.
One of the biggest surprises of 2018's “Avengers: Infinity War” was when the Red Skull revealed himself on the planet Vormir, where he's cursed in a purgatory state to serve as a guide to those seeking the Soul Stone. The kicker was that the actor behind the skull wasn't Hugo Weaving but Ross Marquand.
When Thor is found by the Guardians, he mentions to them that Thanos already possess the Power Stone after destroying Xander. The blue Space Stone, aka the Tesseract: The second Infinity Stone to be collected by Thanos is the Tesseract, which was originally on Asgard with Thor and his family.
Red Skull dropped Captain America out of a helicopter but not before telling him that he was Cap's son. Captain America and Gail Richards had relations right before he went off to fight in the war, and Gail became pregnant.
The Skull's real name of Johann Shmidt was not revealed in his Golden Age and Silver Age appearances. As a young man, Shmidt was from time to time employed by a Jewish shopkeeper, whose daughter Esther was the only person who had treated Shmidt kindly up to that point.
Scarlet Power
As her powers likely come at least in part from the Mind Stone inside of Loki's scepter, Wanda's abilities include telekinesis, energy manipulation, and some form of neuroelectric interfacing that allows her to both read thoughts and also give her targets waking nightmares.
The orange magic in Doctor Strange was a result of borrowing energy from other, non-dark dimensions. And Wanda's magic is red because, well, she's the Scarlet Witch!
Thor loses his eye during the earlier parts of the final battle sequence with this goddess. She casually and effortless beats him around the throne room, and then the moment happens. Hela strikes Thor across the face with her sword, literally slicing the eye from out his head right then and there. Brutal.
The Time Stone (Eye of Agomoto)
The Time Stone grants its owner the power to re-wind or fast-forward time. Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) discovers it in the Eye of Agomoto pendant in the library of Kamar-Taj, where he trains in the mystic arts in Doctor Strange.
It appears Thanos was able to get a hold of the Power Stone (Orb), Space Stone (Tesseract), Reality Stone (Aether) and Mind Stone (Vision). Only the Time and Soul Stones are left before he can roll with his evil plans.
Thor, the god of Thunder, was undoubtedly the most powerful member of the original Avengers. His power continues to grow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Thanos' Sword Is Made From Uru
Uru is a special metal in the Marvel universe that is said to only be created in the core of dying stars, making it ultra rare and incredibly strong. In fact, Thor's Mjolnir is made of the Uru metal making it comparable to Thanos's sword in terms of strength.
Gamora survived Tony's snap because she had changed allegiances when it happened. The stones can interpret the users' intentions, and Tony only snaps Thanos' invading forces. Nebula had already convinced Gamora that Thanos was in the wrong by this point, so the soul stone likely sensed that she was no longer a threat.
Continuity Stone (Black): The Continuity Stone is an Infinity Stone that could only be found in the Deadpool story arcs. In a certain issue, Deadpool gets his hands on the Continuity Stone, which gives the characters the powers to talk to the comic book writers themselves.
The Death Stone was a black-colored Infinity Stone native to Battlerealm. Thanos used Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight to trap most of the heroes deep within the mirror dimension inside the Death Stone in order to collect the other five Infinity Stones unopposed.
