Happy colors are usually thought to be bright, warm shades, like yellow, orange, pink and red, or pastels, like peach, light pink and lilac. The brighter and lighter the color, the happier and more optimistic it can make you feel.
Yellow is widely recognized as the happiest color in the world and comes with a scientific pedigree to back up this esteemed honor. Research has suggested two main reasons why yellow is considered the happiest color. Many studies have linked the psychological powers of yellow to the sun.
Purple. Purple is a spiritual and innovative color. It communicates imagination, luxury, compassion, and mystery. Purple can be used to encourage creativity, intuition, and can evoke wisdom and power.
Yellow. The color yellow stimulates mental processes, encourages communication, strains the eyes, but also increases cheerfulness.
Pink brings strong positive energy into your environment. Mood-lifting yellow is another colour that belongs to the fire element. However, its light shades belong to the earth element. Either way, the color red gets your attention. A study shows that men or women are attracted to each other by the color red, but for different reasons.
When it comes to depression colors, gray and blue tend to be high on the list of those associated with low mood. In a 2010 study using the Manchester Color Wheel, experts found gray was the color people pointed to when asked to reflect feelings of depression.
Yellow was most often associated with a normal mood and grey with an anxious or depressed mood. Different shades of the same color had completely different positive or negative connotations.

Surprisingly, out of the five most well-liked paint colors, only three are considered part of the happy color palette: black, green, and white. In fact, the top two colors that tend to be associated with happiness — purple and yellow — are at the bottom of most people's preferences.

Experts suggest that decorating with blue is one of the best ways to achieve a motivating space. Blue is an incredibly versatile color, with blue room ideas encompassing some of the most relaxing colors as well as being a color to make a room feel happy.
Some theorists argue that an environment rich in the color orange increases the oxygen supply to the brain, stimulating mental activity while simultaneously loosening peoples' inhibitions. An increased oxygen supply also leads to feeling invigorated and getting ready to 'get things done.
The color purple stimulates the brain activity used in problem solving, while also being a feminine and romantic color. Purple is often used in women's cosmetic packaging.
Avoiding colors that can induce anxiety is a good start. Stay away from bright, bold, and intense colors. Colors like red and orange increase anxiety and stress, sometimes even fear. Red and orange are associated with an emergency that can elicit images of emergency vehicles with their lights and sirens on.
Blue promotes a feeling of calmness and serenity. It can also be linked to feelings of trust, stability, and dependability. One study by Travelodge found that households that have blue bedrooms received the best night's sleep compared to any other color.
Fear. “Black” was the most frequently picked color, followed by “red” and then “gray” (Figure 1). “Black” had a high intensity, whereas “red” and “gray” had low intensities (Table 2).
