And although she was one of the few people at Hogwarts who was entirely unimpressed by him, her fellow Gryffindor James Potter was also deeply infatuated with her as well. Obviously Lily ultimately chose James Potter over Severus Snape, and Lily and James got married and had their only child, Harry Potter.
Hogwarts Years
James fell in love with Lily from the moment he first saw her on their first train ride. James was especially delighted when they were both sorted into, in James' opinon the best house ever, Gryffindor.
Not precisely, but she implied that Lily already fancied James, or was flattered by his interest, in the “Snape's Worst Memory” scene. Some fan or other commented that Lily hated James at that point and Rowling said something like “Did she?
James Potter
James's Animagus form was that of a stag, which earned him his nickname, Prongs. Strikingly, Harry's Patronus was a stag and his mother Lily's was a doe, a female deer, showing that the family's characters were in harmony and formed part of the same animal group.
Because Lily (according to them) had the nerve to not fall in love with her former childhood friend, Severus Snape and marry that no-good-evil-spoiled-rich-brat James Potter.
James became Prongs the stag, Sirius was Padfoot the dog and Peter, with more than a little help from his friends, transformed into Wormtail the rat. Remus also earned the nickname 'Moony' on account of his lycanthropy.
Speaking of Lily, James doesn't treat her any better than he does Snape, he constantly harasses her and stalks her every chance he gets. James mentally abused Lily by threatening to hex her when she stands up for Snape to him, saying this abhorrent quote: "Ah, Evans. Don't make me hex you."
Her conscious refusal and readiness to die seals the charm and, thus, Harry's fate as the Boy Who Lived. Although James has the same intention of saving his family while knowing that he is likely to be killed, he is not granted an alternative for his sacrifice to put Lily and Harry under magical protection.
Lily was one of the only important people in his life, so it's normal that he cares about her despite his bad choices and it is normal that he feels guilty for her death.
A doe. And in his final battle with Lord Voldemort, Harry explained the significance of this to his adversary, and to us: 'Snape's Patronus was a doe,' said Harry, 'the same as my mother's, because he loved her for nearly all of his life, from the time when they were children'.
'And stopped hexing people just for the fun of it,' said Lupin. All this implies that James Potter and his friends did have the tendency to bully people for fun or “just because they can”. In fact, James outright tells Lily that he's bullying Severus Snape because of the “fact that he exists, if you know what I mean”.
Harry Potter named his son after the character Professor Severus Snape in tribute to him dying for “for Harry out of love for Lily [Potter],”JK Rowling revealed on Friday.
There were many things Snape actually liked, but probably only one he ever truly loved. Look no further than his Patronus, which remained a doe even after all those years. Though she left this world, Lily Evans never left Snape's heart. For many, it was proof that he had one to begin with.
The fact that Lily chose James Potter, Harry's father, only fuels Snape's hostility towards Harry.
Severus Snape spent the majority of his life in love with Lily Potter. It is easy to understand why Snape, who had an unhappy homelife as a child, fell hard for the first person to show him love and kindness.
Peter Pettigrew
Wormtail's betrayal was so unexpected that it was overlooked for 12 years. James and Lily died not knowing exactly what led to Voldemort finding them, but they knew that Peter was involved, whether voluntarily or unwillingly.
When Lord Voldemort first started gaining power, Peter immediately defected from the Order of the Phoenix and joined the Death Eaters out of fear for his own life. Peter betrayed James and Lily Potter, who entrusted him to be their Secret-Keeper when they cast the Fidelius Charm.
She did not have her wand on her (stated explicitly in the book), and you need a wand to Apparate. Just like how you cannot apparate/disapparate at Hogwarts, the Potters probably put a similar charm on their house to prevent people from just apparating in. Like others said, you have to step outside to disapparate.
In a clip released by Charlotte Tilbury to mark the campaign, she spilled: Shove your face in a bucket of ice or a sink full of ice water and it just sort of tightens everything." Lily added that she then “obviously just slathers on the Magic Cream."
If he had expressed any of this guilt, Sirius and Remus would've told Harry that as part of their comforting in OoTP. “Oh, Harry, James actually regretted bullying Snape a lot. He always wanted to apologize.”
With Dominic West, he was the one actually having an affair, Lily had no romantic commitments known at the time.
She chooses “Snivellus” because the epithet is widely used, having spread from the Marauders to others pupils who dislike Snape. “Chooses” is too strong a word. “Snivellus” probably is the first insult that pops into her head. James has used it moments before, after all.
Lily J. Potter (née Evans) (30 January 1960–31 October 1981) was an English Muggle-born witch, the younger daughter of Mr and Mrs Evans, the younger sister of Petunia Evans, the wife of James Potter, and mother of Harry Potter.

For the first six years at Hogwarts, Lily shared a dormitory with Donna Shacklebolt, Marlene Price, Mary Macdonald, Carlotta Meloni and Shelley Mumps.
