In the fourth instalment, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, a whole passage was dedicated to pointing out that foreign student Viktor Krum was pronouncing Hermione Granger's name wrong, saying “Her-my-own”, instead of the correct “Her-my-oh-knee.”
It turns out that when Hermione explained how to pronounce her name as 'Her-mi-o-ne' to Quidditch superstar Viktor Krum (who kept calling her “Her-minny”), it wasn't only for his benefit.
At one point in time Hermione's last name was actually going to be “Puckle.” Hermione Puckle, Prefect.
If one remembers the scene in the book, it was the Bulgarian Quidditch player Victor Krum who couldn't get Hermione's name quite right. While he would call her 'Her-my-own', she would correct him by spelling it out as 'Her-my-knee'.
Viktor Krum only made a brief appearance in the Harry Potter series and in Hermione Granger's life, but it's safe to say that as soon as the world-famous Seeker laid eyes on Hermione, he was a smitten kitten.
When they met, Viktor was 18 and Hermione was only 15. This relationship is brought up several times in later books to create tension in Ron and Hermione's developing relationship. However, the problematic age gap of the relationship is never addressed.
Did Hermione really kissed Krum? In the books, the reason why Ron was so angry at Hermione in HBP is because Hermione kissed Krum because Ginny said so but did Hermione really, I think Ginny just wanted Ron to be angry and miserable because he was being a snoozy big brother to her love life.
He took particular pleasure in taunting Hermione Granger, who just happened to have Muggle parents. Malfoy called her 'Mudblood', a very grave insult referring to a wizard or witch born to non-magic parents.
The Patronus Charm is perhaps the most notorious difficult-to-cast spell in the wizarding world, and it's certainly the first one to come to mind for most fans.
The irony of Harry calling Hermione 'interfering'
At school, Hermione was a teacher's pet. Harry and Ron, who weren't yet beneficiaries of their soon-to-be friend's smarts, disliked her attention to detail. Or rather, attention to the details of school rules.
Rowling got the name "Hermione" from William Shakespeare's "A Winter's Tale," but she doesn't think her character and Shakespeare's version have much in common.
Harry is not sexually attracted to Hermione - he never has been. He does acknowledge that she is pretty at the Yule Ball. Hermione even earns a full paragraph describing everything from her hair to her dress to her teeth.
People of this mixed parentage are called half-bloods; magical people with any Muggle ancestry on the one side or the other are half-bloods as well. The most prominent Muggle-born in the Harry Potter series is Hermione Granger, who was born to Muggles of undisclosed names.
Harry and his friends are just beginning to experience the complications that inevitably go along with new romantic relationships. Ron is extraordinarily upset to learn that Hermione has kissed Victor Krum and uses his anger as a mask for his true feelings toward his best friend.
The two remained friendly afterwards, though for a brief period Harry thought Krum was mad for using the Cruciatus Curse on Cedric Diggory in the maze, but then he learned that Krum had been under the Imperius Curse.
No, because they were never really together. Hermione agreed to be Krum's partner at the Yule Ball, but that kind of social contract does not imply any understanding that they were in a romantic relationship.
Malfoy spots Harry and casts a Cruciatus curse; Harry, defending himself, using the Half-Blood Prince's Sectumsempra spell without knowing its effects. To his horror, it gashes Draco's face and chest, spilling his blood everywhere.
8 Hermione Granger: Alohomora
If there is a spell to encapsulate the asset Hermione is to everyone's favorite magical trio, it has to be Alohomora. Alohomora is, fittingly, the spell that is used to unlock locks.
This moment with Severus Snape, after he had cruelly called Hermione a 'insufferable know-it-all', was enough to tip Ron over the edge – but he was making a very fair point! 'That is the second time you have spoken out of turn, Miss Granger,' said Snape coolly.
As she did with her first piece of writing 10 days ago, Rowling teased this one via Pottermore's Twitter handle. This time, she tells of how Draco's last name could have been "Smart, Spinks or Spungen," but she settled on Malfoy because his Christian name comes from a constellation: the dragon.

She lost her virginity to Ron sometime after the Battle of Hogwarts. Not to Krum or McLaggen and surely not Fred. Thank you.
Hermione and Viktor Krum
From even the earlier films, we all knew Hermione Granger was meant for Ron Weasley. But before their ultimate expression of love in the final film, Hermione went to the Yule Ball with one of the Triwizard Tournament's champions, Viktor Krum (Stanislav Ianevski), in Goblet of Fire.
Well, in case it skipped your mind, Harry and Hermione shared a kiss – not cause they were in love or dating each other but a manifestation of a Horcrux, in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1.
