Dragon's teeth are painted triangles arranged in pairs on each side of a lane or road. They help to make school zones more visible and alert drivers to the 40km/h speed limit.
Dragon's teeth, a series of painted triangular road markings, are used in dangerous areas of road to remind drivers of new speed limits or a heightened risk of crashes. Generally they are found near school zones or when a busy highway, in this case Melbourne's State Route 8, goes into a built-up area.
Chevrons bring attention to bends in the road ahead. They are a rectangular shaped sign with white arrows on a black background. Chevrons are placed at the very start of the bend, and can be relatively large in size so they can be seen by the road user far in advance of the bend.
Road markings also indicate the number of lanes on the road, where you may overtake other vehicles, which lane to use for turning, and where you must stop for signs or other traffic signals. Road markings are basically of four major typeszcenter lines, edge lines, cross walks and pavement messages.
Turning lanes, reversible lanes, HOV lanes, parking restrictions, yellow and white lines.
Cycle Symbol Marking Diagram 1057. This bike road marking is used to indicate that an area is part of a cycle route, this could be both on-road or off-road in cyclists only areas. For use on road, this symbol is most commonly seen along the road's edge where a specific area is designated for pedal cycles.
Give way road markings
The triangle road marking is used to provide an extra visual aid warning drivers of a junction just ahead. this road marking may not be used on roads where there is relatively little traffic. Give way road markings are also represented by one or two broken white lines across the carriageway.
A V-shaped pattern; used in architecture, and as an insignia of military or police rank, on the sleeve. A guillemet, either of the punctuation marks “«” or “»”, used in several languages to indicate passages of speech. Similar to typical quotation marks used in the English language such as ““” and “””.
A chevron is a V shape. The chevron or arrow road sign indicates a sharp bend to the left or right.
Yield Lines at Unsignalized Crosswalk, One-Way Traffic
A yield line of solid white isosceles triangles is shown across the three lanes where the signs are placed.
Hazard signs are known world wide. The yellow triangle shows that we have to be careful when in the area that the sign is shown. Aside from being known for the yellow triangle, the symbols inside of each triangle warn for a different hazard.
the first triangle 50-150m from the front of the vehicle or fallen load. the second triangle 50-150m from the rear of the vehicle or fallen load. the third triangle at the side of the vehicle or fallen load, in a position that gives sufficient warning to other road users of the position of the vehicle or fallen load.
Warning triangles are used to alert other drivers and road users that they are approaching an unexpected stationary vehicle. Often people will use their Hazard Warning Lights when they breakdown to alert others of the danger.

Blue circles usually give a positive instruction, such as 'turn left ahead'. Triangular road signs: Triangular signs warn. Road signs in the shape of an equilateral triangle are designed to warn you about the road layout or any hazards that lie ahead, such as sharp bends. They almost always have a red border.
white studs mark the lanes or the middle of the road. red studs mark the left edge of the road. amber studs mark the central reservation of a dual carriageway or motorway. green studs mark the edge of the main carriageway at lay-bys and slip roads.
Countdown markers on motorways
Before you get to an exit on a motorway, there are markers to count you down to it. 3 white stripes on a blue background indicate that you are 300 yards (about 275m) away from the junction. 2 stripes mean you're 200 yards from it, and 1 stripe is your 100-yard warning.
Hazard Markings
This marking is used to indicate the driver of a hazard being the junction up ahead. Such as Prohibiting cross-over, changing of lanes, merging, or diverging. If the driver fails to notice these hazardous lines may have less time to react to the upcoming hazard.
