If either attraction has a wait time of 13 minutes for the standby line, get in line! 13 minutes is a 'code' for no wait time at all. In the case of these two attractions, number 13 happens to be a lucky number! ( Photo Credit Meeko)
What does a 13 minute wait at Disney mean? Though many will see the number 13 as unlucky, if you see this posted as the wait time on Tower of Terror, you should jump into the queue immediately. Disney posting 13 isn't a spooky way of saying 15 minutes, it actually means that the ride is pretty much a walk-on.
Camera tracking involves installing cameras that count people both in and out of a queue in order to determine how many people are currently waiting. The ride's throughput can also be calculated, and this in turn allows queue times to be determined.
And finally, we get to Disney's Animal Kingdom. The longest wait there (on average) was Flight of Passage at 102 minutes. Na'vi River Journey followed with 64 minutes, and Kilimanjaro Safaris was next at 58 minutes.
But if you're at Magic Kingdom or Disney's Hollywood Studios, 13 can be a green light to go on one of Disney World's best rides with no wait. At both Haunted Mansion and Tower of Terror, if there's a posted wait time of exactly 13 minutes, it's code that there's almost no wait at all.
In an effort to keep the parks clean, Disney World doesn't sell gum anywhere on the premises.
Off-peak times fall around January, February, August, September, and early November. Discounts on vacation packages (which combine park tickets and hotel stays) booked directly through Disney World and deals on accommodations are regularly offered throughout the year, typically during these less-crowded times.
The "120-minute rule" allows you to book a Genie+ LL for later in the day -- but if it's more than 120 minutes away, you don't have to wait to redeem that LL. You simply wait 120 minutes and can book another Genie+ LL. Both MaxPass and FastPass+ had similar policies.
Disney Genie+ is a paid service that allows you to skip the standby line and use the Lightning Lane entrance at select attractions. Guests can book their first Genie+ ride selections starting at 7 AM on the day of their visit. This applies to both those who stay at a Disney Resort Hotel or stay off-property.
Across the 54 attractions Disney offers at its four parks, guests can expect to wait for an average of 36 minutes per ride. EPCOT has the shortest lines (26 minutes), while Hollywood Studios has the longest (41 minutes).
While you won't see a discounted price compared with a standard day ticket, you will see lower crowds, special holiday overlays and complimentary drinks and snacks from 9:00 PM- 1:00 AM (with entry beginning at 7:00 PM).
But what happens if you plan on making your dining reservation, but you're running late? If you're only going to be a little late, it's totally okay — Disney will hold the reservation for up to 15 minutes after your scheduled time. BUT…if they haven't heard from you by then, your table will go to someone else.
Guests staying at Disney Resort hotels and select other hotels can take advantage of a 30-minute early entry into Walt Disney World theme parks every day. Valid theme park admission, park reservation and Resort ID are required.
Early Theme Park Entry begins 30 minutes before the park is scheduled to open. Guests may be allowed into the park sooner, and some rides may begin to queue before that time. In rare cases, rides may operated before that time.
Get a Head Start on the Fun
You do not need a park reservation or additional ticket to enter the park at or after 7:00 PM. When you arrive early, you'll have extra time to enjoy attractions and entertainment. Plus, you can witness the wonder of Disney Enchantment, the nighttime spectacular at Magic Kingdom park!
You can buy two individual Lightning Lanes each day. You can only buy an individual Lightning Lane for each ride once per day. So each guest gets up to two distinct individual Lightning Lanes each day. That's not per park—it's total.
The technical pace limit for all RunDisney races is 16 minutes per mile. Enforcement is lax on the 5K, but you should be prepared to keep that pace if they do enforce it.
Within each year, January and February are the cheapest months to visit. January 9-12 and January 16 through mid-February 2023 are two relatively crowd date ranges that are cheapest. Prices spike for the week of Presidents' Day/Mardi Gras, falling again the next week–but not as low as those early-year off-season dates.
Holidays and special events tend to bring more crowds and therefore more wait times to each of the Disney Parks, but there are some days of the week that will be busier than others. In general these are the least busy days in each park: Magic Kingdom – Tuesday. Epcot – Monday.
Less Crowds – Probably the most IMPORTANT Fact, the peak attendance for Magic Kingdom is in the afternoon. In the early morning, there are less people too, but it's just going to get busier by the minute. Believe it or not, as night falls at Magic Kingdom, the crowds start to dwindle.
Is Walt Disney World Worth the Cost in 2022? No, we'd say at least not right now. Just the idea that a family of 4 would pretty much have to pay an extra $60/ per day for Disney Genie+ with the hopes that they can get 2-3 rides they want without waiting in long lines, is ludicrous.
August is the hottest month of the year so you'll want to be prepared! The average high temperature for Disney World weather in August is 90°F and the average low is 75°F. That's 32°C for the high and 25°C for the low.
As of 2022, Walt Disney World is at full operations and not putting in any capacity restrictions due to COVID-19.
