In Colossians 3:1–17, he makes it clear that “to set your minds on things that are above” (Col. 3:2) means expressing the priorities of God's kingdom precisely in the midst of everyday earthly activities.

To have a godly mindset, God must give us grace and guidance as we work out our thinking as a member of the Christian community. This requires humility and submissiveness as well as at times, patience and courage. Philippians 2:5-11 shows us a picture of what this mindset looks like.

The Bible teaches that God's sovereignty is an essential aspect of who he is, that he has supreme authority and absolute power over all things. And yes he is very much active, despite our perplexity. Scripture says, God works “all things according to the counsel of his will” (Ephesians 1:11).

And set your minds and keep them set on what is above (the higher things), not on the things that are on the earth.
The mind uses the brain, and the brain responds to the mind. The mind also changes the brain. People choose their actions—their brains do not force them to do anything. Yes, there would be no conscious experience without the brain, but experience cannot be reduced to the brain's actions.
