In this day and age, it is very common to hear, “this call is being recorded for quality assurance.” On nearly every call you make into any organization, calls are being recorded. Recording calls allows companies to ensure their employees are delivering the best customer service as possible.
Use an Anti-spyware App
There are anti-spyware apps available on both Android and iOS platforms that can detect any spyware or recording apps installed on your phone. Download and install a reputable anti-spyware app and run a scan to check for any suspicious apps.
It is illegal to record or intercept any telephone or electronic communication without the consent of at least one party. This offense is a felony punishable by fine and/or imprisonment, and can also carry civil liability.
On your Android device, open the Phone app . At the top right, tap More options Settings Call recording. Under “Always record,” turn on Numbers not in your contacts.
On the lefthand menu, click 'Activity controls'. Scroll down to the 'Voice & Audio activity' section and click that. There you'll find a chronological list of all the voice and audio recordings which will include any recorded without you knowing.
If you realize someone is recording you without your permission in a public setting, there isn't much you can do but ask them to stop or leave. If this is a recurring occurrence with a certain individual, you can call the police or choose to sue if you have legal grounds for it.
Therefore it's natural to wonder “can this happen to me?”. The truth is, yes. Someone can listen to your phone calls, if they have the right tools and they know how to use them – which when all is said and done, isn't anywhere near as difficult as you might expect.

Battery issues

An easy way to record a phone call on an iPhone is by using another Apple device with the Voice Memos app, which should come already installed on your Apple device. This app allows you to record audio using the microphone on your iPhone, with no need for a cord or extra devices to help you pick up sound.
Under federal law, recording phone conversations or a phone call with the approval of at least one of the parties to the conversation is legal.
According to Lifehacker, your iPhone automatically tells you when the phone or microphone is active—you just have to know where to look. When your phone is taking a video recording, a green dot will appear in the top-right corner of the screen. For audio recordings, an orange dot will be visible in the same place.
This indicator only means that the "Phone" app is currently using your microphone. It was put to prevent apps from using your microphone or camera without you knowing.
Go to Settings – Applications – Manage Applications or Running Services, and you may be able to spot suspicious looking files. Good spy programs usually disguise the file names so that they don't stand out but sometimes they may contain terms like spy, monitor, stealth, and so on.
If someone wants to listen to your calls, they'll need to compromise your phone in some way, usually by installing spy software on your device to monitor your activity. Therefore, searching for signs of spyware is the best way to know if someone is listening to your calls.
There are other signs of a hacked phone, such as reduced screenshot quality, unusually high data usage, and apps crashing randomly. If you notice any of these signs, you can take immediate steps to protect your device by downloading a security tool that can scan your device for risks and remediate threats.
However, that does not mean your iPhone, or Android phone camera is not spying on you. No device is completely immune to security risks, and it is still important for users to be cautious and alert. There's a chance someone could be spying on you through your smartphone camera.
Check for background apps
If an unauthorized person wants to see you through your phone's camera, using a spyware app is a viable method. Fortunately, if your stalker isn't a sophisticated hacker, the software they use may appear as an open application running behind the scenes.
How do you know if a security camera is recording? A security camera is on and recording if it has a light blinking. This is usually red, but may also be green, orange, or some other color. The light is known as a 'status LED'.
Under Federal law, it is legal to record a conversation as long as one-party gives consent to the recording. This is known as a “one-party” consent rule.
Not only is it illegal under New South Wales law to record conversations at work except in very limited circumstances, it is also grounds for the employer to take disciplinary action or terminate the employment altogether.
