The Kai Ken (甲斐犬, also called the Tora Inu or Tiger Dog) is a breed of dog native to the Kai region, Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan, where it is a national monument. It is a rare dog even in its native land and is one of the six native Japanese dog breeds protected by the Nihon Ken Hozonkai.
Chow Chow. Probably the most well known lion-looking dog, the Chow Chow hails from ancient China. Despite all of its lion-like fur, Chow Chows are incredibly clean dogs, according to the American Kennel Club, meaning they housebreak easily and have very little odor.
The Catahoula Leopard Dog is a medium-large, short-coated dog, known for its many varied coat and eye colors and patterns. The word is of Choctaw origin and is translated to mean "sacred lake." Catahoulas are the only breed of dog to have historically originated in the state of Louisiana.

Tibetan Mastiff
Tibetan mastiffs are ancient domesticated dogs. They are large, strong and powerful. Their traditional purpose was to protect livestock and help with herding. Tibetan mastiffs look like lions, which makes them one of the most sought-after pets in parts of Asia and Europe.

Baby Tiger: Cub
A baby tiger is known as a cub. These tiger cubs live with their mother until they are two years old. They typically nurse until they are 24 weeks (about five to six months) old before their mother brings them prey to eat.

Chow Chow. Hailing from China, Chow Chows are the closest a dog breed could get to resembling a lion. Their thick, short fur matches the coloration of a lion's mane (the cinnamon ones). That, coupled with their lion-like ears, makes them true lion lookalikes of the canine world.
