All of the elves that went to Helm's Deep were killed in the battle. The last shot where any elves are seen is when the Uruk-Hai breach the main gate and begin flooding into the inner courtyard as Aragorn and Theoden try to get as many men as they can into the throne room.
Approximately 700–750 soldiers on the Rohan/Elves of lothlorien perished. While on the Uruk Hai, almost their whole entire attacking force was destroyed.
Haldir Galahon was a Silvan Elf of Lothlórien, serving as the Marchwarden of Lórien who guarded the forest's northern borders.
In The Two Towers, the city of Edoras was evacuated to Helm's Deep. Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli accompanied King Théoden and his people there.
This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good earth, I bid you stand, Men of the West!” – Aragorn.
Legolas: "Aragorn, men i ndagor. Hýn ú ortheri. Natha daged aen!" (They cannot win this fight. They are all going to die!)
However, they were ambushed by enemies, including a Balrog. Glorfindel fought the Balrog and succeeded in slaying the monster, but was himself mortally wounded. His body was recovered by the great eagle Thorondor and buried under a stone cairn, where afterward grew yellow flowers.
In the manner— Legolas was born in the Third-age or somewhere around so, only a few thousand years old. Glorfindel trumps that as he was the few who was reincarnated from the First-age where elves were pretty much at their prime. Glorfindel is arguably stronger in the Third-age as opposed to the First.
2002: The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers:
Haldir leads a regiment of Elven archers from Lórien to the Battle of Helm's Deep, where he is eventually slain, along with most of his archers.
Gríma (voiceover): "Helm's Deep has but one weakness. It's outer wall is solid rock for except for a small culvert in space, which is little more than a drain." [Saruman pours explosives into a metallic ball.]
After Saruman learned that the people of Rohan were taking refuge in Helms Deep, Saruman summoned Mog and gave him command over an army of 10,000 Uruk-Hai to wipe out the refugees and their defenders. After a speech from Saruman, Mog and his troops marched to Helms Deep.
Recall Gimli's and and Legolas's contest at Helm's Deep which Gimli won 42-41 (or 43-42 in the movie).
The Elves felt compelled to leave Middle-earth because the Valar (deities of Tolkien's world) were spiritually summoning them to their ultimate destinies. The Valar saw the Elves as a race above the others, and thought that they would fare better if they lived in the Blessed Realm (also known as Aman) with the Valar.
Celeborn was one of the noblest of the Sindar — who wedded the Lady Galadriel of the House of Finarfin and with her, he remained in Middle-earth after the end of the First Age.
The third episode of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power introduced audiences to the season's Big Bad: Adar (Joseph Mawle), a menacing elven figure who leads the orcs of the Southlands.
Galadriel. One of the elves who lived in Middle Earth the longest was The Lady of Lothlorien, who arrived in the First Age and left in the Fourth. Galadriel's enigmatic abilities were tremendous, having learned magic from Valar and Maiar.
While the Blue Wizards were sent to the east, Glorfindel's mission was to aid Gil-galad and Elrond in the struggle against Sauron. He may have played a prominent behind-the-scenes role in the war in Eriador and the other struggles of the Second Age and Third Age.
Arwen is described as the “most beautiful of the last generation of High Elves in Middle-earth,” and can summon powerful water spirits. She goes out of her way to always help those in need as well. One of the more important things she does is unite Elf and Man in peace again, like Beren and Lúthien before her.
Ecthelion stood no chance against the Lord of Balrogs, and lost his sword in the brief struggle. But then Ecthelion leaped forward, and stabbed Gothmog in the breast with the spike atop his helm. They both fell into the Fountain of the King, where Gothmog, if not already killed by the spike, drowned with his opponent.
For more than five millennia, the Balrog hibernated in his deep hiding place at the roots of the mountains in Khazad-dûm. He remained undisturbed throughout the Second Age and most of the Third, before the mithril-miners of dwarf-King Durin VI awoke him in T.A. 1980.
Glorfindel volunteered to help Frodo because he was strong enough to face the Nazgul, for their leader the Witch-King had been very afraid of him in the past. On October 9, Glorfindel set out from Rivendell.
Posted on Reddit by user applecub, the theory posits that Legolas' name slipped Frodo's mind since their introduction was brief and overshadowed by the daunting task of destroying the One Ring. By the time they reunited in Rivendell, Frodo didn't ask Legolas for his name to avoid offending him.
In fact, there's only one line that Legolas says to Frodo: “And you have my bow.”
He Only Speaks To Frodo Once
Given all of that, you would think that Legolas would have more than a passing acquaintance with the Hobbit. In fact, the two of them only spoke once in the entirety of Peter Jackson's trilogy.
