Feelings of anger arise due to how we interpret and react to certain situations. Everyone has their own triggers for what makes them angry, but some common ones include situations in which we feel: threatened or attacked. frustrated or powerless.
Anger triggers the body's 'fight or flight' response. Other emotions that trigger this response include fear, excitement and anxiety. The adrenal glands flood the body with stress hormones, such as adrenaline and cortisol.
Generally, people tend to view anger as one of our strongest and most powerful emotions. Anger is a natural and "automatic" human response, and can in fact, serve to help protect us from harm. While angry behavior can be destructive, angry feelings themselves are merely a signal that we may need to do something.

Anger Can Be a Necessary and Useful Emotion:
At its core anger alerts us to threats and tells us when one of our fundamental needs has gone unmet or has been squashed. In doing so anger makes it clear to us who we are.
High levels of anger are linked to increased muscle tension and increased sensitivity to pain. This means uncontrolled anger can make you feel worse if you have chronic pain. Anger can affect your body in other physical ways, too. Angry outbursts can trigger migraines and raise your blood pressure.
Anger or rage is caused by complex trauma. Justified anger is connected to responding properly to betrayal. This type of anger, while a person may feel angry it can lead to severe mental and physical problems if not appropriately expressed.
The stages of denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance give a structure by which an understanding of the process of grieving can be achieved. The second stage of grief that is often described is that of anger.
