You can move your neck side to side and up and down or move your legs in a bicycle motion while sitting or lying down. Make it your personal goal to try at least one of these activities. Movement of any kind is better than none.

Regular exercise can help to combat pain and improve your overall health. Being active can reduce your blood sugar, which, in turn, can reduce or slow down nerve damage. Exercise also increases blood flow to your arms and legs and reduces stress. These are all factors that help to reduce discomfort and pain.
As a general rule, a muscle which has been weakened due to nerve compression should not be exercised until there is measurable return of muscle strength and there is minimal pain associated with the nerve injury.
