The story of the virgin birth was not new at the time of Christ. Millennia before Christ was supposedly born to a virgin, the mythical Egyptian god Horus was born to the virgin Isis. Krishna, the Hindu god, was also born of a holy virgin. Both Jesus and Krishna are held to be god incarnate by two religions.
Some held that Attis was her son. His birth, like that of many other heroes, is said to have been miraculous. His mother, Nana, was a virgin, who conceived by putting a ripe almond or a pomegranate in her bosom.
Roughly 1 percent of moms may be virgins -- or so they claim in a new survey. Virgin birth, or parthenogenesis, typically occurs in non-humans that reproduce asexually, including sharks, Komodo dragons, pit vipers and boa constrictors.

Men will receive 72 virgins in the hadith corpus. There is some debate on the meaning of the Quranic passages according to Islamic jurisprudence. Ahmed Ali's translated version does not even mention the 70 (the number may vary) virgins that are found in Shakir's translated version.
But Mary is called "Queen of Virgins" not only because She is the greatest of all Virgins, but because She is the exemplar of virginity, and the Queen of all who have vowed themselves to the virgin life for the love of God.

From the age at which Jewish maidens became marriageable, it is possible that Mary gave birth to her son when she was about thirteen or fourteen years of age. No historical document tells us how old she actually was at the time of the Nativity.

Most animals that procreate through parthenogenesis are small invertebrates such as bees, wasps, ants, and aphids, which can alternate between sexual and asexual reproduction. Parthenogenesis has been observed in more than 80 vertebrate species, about half of which are fish or lizards.

The claim that "Christ" comes from Krishna is completely baseless, because Christ is Greek for "anointed one" and Krishna is an unrelated personal name. Christian apologists, on the other hand, have rejected Krishna as an imposter and a perversion of the savior ideal.

Muhammad ibn Jarir al-Tabari mentions that all righteous women, however old and decayed they may have been on earth, will be resurrected as virginal maidens and will, like their male counterparts, remain eternally young in paradise.

Is Mary the mother of God? According to the Bible, Mary did not give birth to God, but to the Son of God. Since the Council of Ephesus in 431 AD, however, Mary has been venerated in Christianity as the Mother of God.
