How to Layer Moisturizer and Oil. As a rule of thumb, all skincare should be applied thinnest to thickest, so, moisturizer first, facial oil second. The one exception to the rule is our Antioxidant Oil-Serum; because it has both oil and serum properties, it can be applied before, after, or in place of your moisturizer.
Because oil is the heaviest — or most dense — product in your routine, it's able to penetrate your moisturizer, allowing it to reach your skin, but the reverse isn't true. If you want to really amp up the moisture, apply your oil after applying moisturizer onto damp skin.

If the texture of your Facial Oil is very thick and slow absorbing- such as Meadowfoam Seed Oil- your oil will work well to trap in moisture and prevent moisture loss over time. Since we lose moisture as we sleep, we suggest applying thicker, slower absorbing oils in the evening for maximum benefits!
6. Facial Oil – if you're using a facial oil, this should be applied after your serums, creams, and moisturizers. This will help lock in all the hydration and provide extra nourishment to your skin overnight. Look for an oil rich in antioxidants and skin-boosting ingredients like argan, jojoba, and calendula oils.

Don't oil overnight
We are often encouraged to oil hair overnight. However, that might do more harm than good to our hair. Overnight hair oiling can clog our pores and might even attract dirt, etc. Ideally, you should apply oil to your roots 3-4 hours before washing your hair.
Almond oil
It gives you a beautiful natural glow. First, you need to clean your face and then apply almond oil all over. After applying oil massage gently with fingertips and let it absorb in your skin through the night. Next morning, wash it off with a cleanser and then apply a light moisturizer.
So if you're wondering whether face oil can replace moisturizer, the answer is a resounding no.

HOW LONG SHOULD YOU WAIT AFTER SERUM APPLICATION TO APPLY MOISTURISER? This is a common question that I am asked in the treatment room. Some clients like to wait between applications but in actual fact, a slightly moist skin will absorb serums and skincare products much more effectively. The answer is straight away.
