When Introverts become angry, they tend to hold everything inside, hiding their anger from others and even from themselves.
Introverts get annoyed when people don't understand their need for alone time. Even worse is when someone they love takes their need for alone time personally. For example, an extrovert may assume their introverted loved one doesn't want to spend time together because they need alone time.
When you experience stress as an introvert, talking to other people isn't typically your first option. This might mean you tend to keep things to yourself and overthink. A journal can provide a place and time to express how you feel and privately work through your thoughts.
Unless you take a short break from everyone and everything, you will become more irritable and distracted. If you're an introvert and you spend the entire day interacting with other people, chances are you will experience mental and emotional exhaustion.
Wait it out. Additionally, when an Introvert ignores you, they may be angry. Although they might be mad about something that's overshadowing their life, they'll soon recharge and refresh enough to pay attention to their relationships. Signs of Introvert Hangover
Introverts describe feeling like they are mentally foggy, unable to focus and desperately craving time alone. An introvert hangover can happen after a single social event, or can build up over time when too many days pass without time alone.
Nevertheless, there are some real differences between introverts and extroverts. On average, introverts really do prefer solitude more than extroverts, and extroverts are more driven to engage in social interactions that elevate their social attention and status (more about this later).
Introverts tend to draw energy from going inwards and being on our own whereas as extroverts tend to draw energy from things that are external to their mind. That is why overly stimulating environments can be energy draining for introverts, leaving us feeling tired, lacking in energy and even stressed.
Introverts have to constantly wage a battle within themselves- what is socially considered right or correct, and what they actually think is right. With the amount of pressure that exists, it is more likely for an introvert to submit to socially accepted norms of behavior.
Those landing on the extreme side of the spectrum of introversion have traits that make others think something is wrong with them. For example, locking themselves away for extended periods, avoiding almost all social interactions, and doing practically everything by themselves.
Individuals with an introverted personality type are also often known to be perfectionists and very self-critical. You're interested in who they are as a person, which can be a real turn-on, especially to a fellow introvert or HSP. Try to find something they would enjoy telling you about themselves. A great way to do this is by asking open-ended or “why?” questions.
An anxious introvert may come across as being rude or quick tempered, or they may seem disinterested. However, their behavior may be directed by their anxious nature.
They don't try to get to know the people you hang out with. Introverts are loners who want to keep their circle of friends small. If you don't seem interested in getting to know the people you're hanging out with, it's because they don't like you. They don't want to be around you for any other reason.
In terms of introversion and extroversion, research suggests that as we age, we become more introverted. This may be due to a variety of factors, such as increased wisdom and self-awareness, which can lead to a greater appreciation for solitude and time alone.
What struggles have introverts had? Introverts can't usually start a conversation but they really want to have conversation. Struggle to handle situations that depends on extroverts. Introverts find it difficult to really have fun even at the crowded party.. they just need some people to enjoy with, not a party.
Introverts tend to process thoughts internally, extroverts process externally. In more basic terms, by talking an extrovert processes their thoughts, where an introvert needs to stop and think about things. This can lead to an introvert feeling less confident if they have an “instant answer”.
Causes of Introversion
Researchers have found that introverts have a higher blood flow to their frontal lobe than extroverts do. This part of the brain helps you remember things, solve problems, and plan ahead. Introvert brains also react differently to dopamine than extrovert brains do.
According to relationship therapist Tracy Ross, LCSW, introvert-extrovert relationships are pretty common, and that might be in light of humans craving balance. “Introverts and extroverts are attracted to each other because of the differences,” says Ross.
