Your Netflix plan determines how many devices are allowed to watch at the same time using your account. To fix the problem: On a different device using your account, stop playing Netflix or close the Netflix app.
Upgrade Your Netflix account plan
Meaning that you can only download content on up to 4 devices on the Premium plan. If you have more than 4 devices, you'll have to choose where you want to download most of your content. Otherwise, the Netflix Downloads on Too Many Devices error will soon show up.
The number of simultaneous Netflix streams you can have depends on which subscription you choose. The Basic plan only allows one, while the Standard plan allows for up to two, and the Premium plan allows for up to four.
Click on your profile icon located in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. Select "Account." Scroll down to "Security and Privacy" > "Manage access and devices." Here, you will find a list of the most recent devices that have been used to access your account.
Pay for Premium and there can be four devices of any kind watching Netflix at the exact same time. However, those users and devices cannot be permanently in another household.
A Netflix account is for use by one household.
To clear the confusion, these rules do not apply to “Netflix Profiles”. Meaning, users with Standard and Premium plans will still be able to watch Netflix on two supported devices and four supported devices at a time respectively if they are living in the same household.
Log into your Netflix account from any web browser on any device. Choose your main profile by clicking on the profile icon or the name. Click on your profile icon in the top-right section, then choose Account. In the SETTINGS section, click on Sign out of all devices.

Netflix's crackdown on password sharing begins in Australia. You'll now need to pay an extra $8 a month to share outside your household.
Netflix says an account can only be used by members of one physical household, sharing one internet connection. Additional members logging from elsewhere can be added for $7.99 a month.
Account holders can add more people outside of the household for an extra $7.99 a month, or they can use the "transfer profile" feature to prompt extra users to make their own accounts that they pay for, Netflix said Tuesday.
What are the new rules? Netflix will only let people share an account if they live in the same household — or pay an extra fee. It'll ask people using someone else's account to get a new account of their own or stay on as a paid "extra member".
Starting from today, May 24, Netflix users in Australia can no longer share their password with family or friends if they're not living together in the same household.
With the new policy, only users who are part of a “Netflix Household”—those who are using the same internet connection—will be able to access the account unless they are paid additional users added onto a Standard or Premium plan.
Does Netflix log out when you change your password? If you choose to check the box saying “Require all devices to sign in again using a new password,” Netflix will log out your account from every device. But, it won't log you out from your current device.
This error message means you've removed too many devices with downloads from your Netflix profile. Try again later, or delete all downloads directly on the device using the Netflix app. If you think your account is being used without your permission, you can stop someone from using your Netflix account.
While some hackers are happy to watch discreetly, some are a little more daring and will make an effort to change your login details. From changing your password to your email address, some hackers will take over your whole account, so they can sell it to an unsuspecting buyer.
As a general rule, when you run into a problem, we recommend trying the following: Check your internet connection. Disconnect your mobile device, TV, or computer, then reconnect. Sign out of your Netflix account and sign in again or reinstall Netflix app.
If you see this error message, it means we weren't able to associate your TV with your Netflix Household. If you signed in to Netflix from a device that is not part of your Netflix Household, you may need to verify your device to watch Netflix.
