Description. The Bullypit is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the American Bulldog and the American Pit Bull Terrier. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed.
Meet the American Bully
They are a crossbreed of an American Staffordshire Terrier or an American Pit Bull with various types of Bulldog breeds. Even though they look ferocious, the dogs are calm and collected and considered family pets because they are good with children.
The breed was first recognized by its breed club, the American Bully Kennel Club (ABKC), in 2004. This registry first acted as a means to document pedigrees and show the breed against its written standard.
The American Bully was originally divided into four categories: Standard, Classic, XL, and Pocket. Nowadays there are five American Bully types, the Extreme one being the latest added.

About the Breed
Yet their aggressive-looking appearance is deceiving. For when bred correctly, American bullies are well-rounded dogs with a good-natured temperament, making them the perfect family dog. Affectionate by nature, these dogs are not only social animals with a zest for life who love being around people.
Because of the Pitbull's dogfighting past, he might display fear-aggression tendencies more than the Bully if he is not socialized properly. Both dogs respond best to positive reinforcement training, so be sure to research and utilize it.
Why do we call them bully breeds? Bully breed is a catch-all term for a type of terrier. Some bully breeds actually feature the word “bull,” as in bulldog, bull mastiff and the pit bull. This refers to their common roots as guard dogs and fighters that were tough enough to take on a bull.
The American bully, a newer version of the American bulldog, commonly comes in four variations, standard, pocket, classic and XL. They vary in size, with those taller than 50cm (20 inches) being classified as an XL.
Staffordshire bull terriers are smaller than pitbulls but have a stocky and muscular build. The main differences between Staffordshire terriers and Pitbulls are size, color, temperament, and the shape of their face. Pitbulls are much larger and taller than Staffordshire terriers.
While the American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) is the only formal breed with the term "pit bull" in its name, there are four breeds that are commonly included in the modern pitbull-type category - the American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and the American Bully.
