Valid ID identification: it refers to the certificate or document that can prove your identity and that is issued by authorized organization according to legal regulations, such as Identity card, registered permanent residence booklet, passport, soldier certificate and residence card etc.
Valid Forms of ID

A government issued ID
You can bring your driver's license, state issued ID or passport as proof of your identity.
The Medicare card is used as a recognised form of ID in opening bank accounts or obtaining a driver's license.

In Australia you are not required by law to carry proof of identification (ID), but you may find it useful in some situations. For example you may need to prove you are over 18 to buy alcohol or enter some venues.
The Photo Card is voluntary – you don't have to have one, but if you don't have any other kind of photo identification, you may find it useful.

Postal ID. This identification is one of the easiest and fastest IDs to get and is valid for 3 years.
It is advisable that you have at least two (2) valid IDs also known as the primary ID so that you will no longer need to present the secondary IDs or documents. There are many transactions that need such valid IDs.
Post office ID card
One of the easiest ways to get a government-approved photo ID card is through your local post office. A post office ID card can be used in all states, as it is a legal form of identification throughout the US.
Australian state and territory issued identity photo cards (also known as Proof of Age Cards or by other names) are photo identification cards issued by the States and Territories of Australia. While the drivers license is similar to the photo identity card, the photo identity card is treated separately here.
To prove who you are, you need to provide: a NSW driver/rider licence or NSW Photo Card that is current, or has expired within the last 2 years – sometimes called a 'stand-alone' proof of identity.
When your passport expires, it loses its validity as the information available to the government becomes outdated, thus making it unacceptable as a form of ID. That means you cannot use it to travel abroad or for legal transactions like taking out a loan or securing a mortgage on a house.
You need five original identity documents to verify your full name, date of birth and current residential address. Take them to a Driver and Vehicle Services Centre or regional agent with a completed photo card application form. Applications cannot be done online.

A NSW Photo Card is an easy way to show proof of age, proof of identity and proof of address for any resident over the age of 16.
