When Hamlet finally does die, Horatio is holding him, and gives him a farewell of infinite tenderness: 'Now cracks a noble heart. Good night, sweet prince, / And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest' (5.2. 397-98).
The last words Hamlet speaks are to his friend Horatio: "The rest is silence." These words were crucial to audiences at the time because they provided a sense of ease in death and the afterlife. Hearing that Hamlet could now rest in peace for avenging his father's death meant he was no longer suffering.

Hamlet tells Horatio again that he is dying, and urges his friend not to commit suicide in light of all the tragedies, but instead to stay alive and tell his story. He says that he wishes Fortinbras to be made King of Denmark; then he dies.
At the end of the play, when Hamlet is killed in his fight with Laertes, Horatio, in his grief, offers to kill himself with his own sword. It is Hamlet's dying request that Horatio tell Hamlet's story, and let the truth of it be known, that keeps him from doing so.

Horatio is saying his body is there with them, and his spirit, if not he belief in ghosts yet. In other words his scepticism is there in place of his belief.
Horatio demonstrates his loyalty and trustworthiness in a number of ways in the play. “Never to speak of this that you have seen. Swear by my sword” (I.v.156-157). After Hamlet talks to the ghost, he vows that he will get revenge and says he may act mad.
Hamlet tells horatio to let his story live because he knows that he is about to die and his story is one that can be related to. I believe Hamlet asks Horatio to tell his story because he wants people to know the real story. He wants a legacy of him especially to be left behind, and he doesn't want to be forgotten.

Arguably the most famous quotation in the whole of Hamlet, this line begins one of Hamlet's darkest and most philosophical soliloquies.

As a character, Horatio is presented to us as utterly dependable, well educated, stoical, dispassionate and devout.
From the obvious—“O, I am slain” (Polonius, Hamlet)—to the sentimental—“Thus with a kiss I die” (Romeo, Romeo and Juliet)—to the vengeful—“I'll be revenged on the whole pack of you” (Malvolio, Twelfth Night)—Shakespeare gave every character on his stage a send-off to be remembered.
Horatio suggests that they tell Prince Hamlet, the dead king's son, about the apparition. He believes that though the ghost did not speak to him, if it is really the ghost of King Hamlet, it will not refuse to speak to his beloved son.
Now Cracks a Noble Heart: Context
'Now cracks a noble heart' is the appropriately heartbreaking comment on Hamlet's death at the end of Shakespeare's Hamlet. The line is delivered by Hamlet's best - his only - friend, Horatio.
The Ghost tells Hamlet a tale of horror. Saying that he is the spirit of Hamlet's father, he demands that Hamlet avenge King Hamlet's murder at the hands of Claudius. Hamlet, horrified, vows to “remember” and swears his friends to secrecy about what they have seen.
Horatio is Hamlet's closest friend and studied with him at university in Wittenberg. Horatio remains loyal to Hamlet throughout the play and is trusted by Hamlet until the end. He is one of the only characters who survive in the play and he tells Hamlet's story to Prince Fortinbras in the final scene.

In season 4, Horatio began a romantic relationship with Marisol Delko (Eric's sister). Horatio and Marisol got married and she was killed by the end of season 4.
Before he dies, Hamlet uncovers his uncle's treachery and kills him. He then succumbs to the poison while lying in Horatio's arms. Horatio tries to poison himself, since he does not want to live life without his friend.
