Nagato (Japanese: 長門), known primarily under the alias of Pain (ペイン, Pein), is a fictional character in the manga and anime series Naruto created by Masashi Kishimoto. Nagato is the figurehead leader of the Akatsuki who wishes to capture the tailed beasts sealed into various people around the shinobi world.
Myōjin Yahiko (明神 弥彦), a character in the Rurouni Kenshin series.
Pain aka Nagato belongs to the Uzumaki clan and is one of the main villains in Naruto. Nagato has a lot of aliases in Naruto Shippuden, one of them being Pain as it is more of a concept than a person, “The Six Paths of Pain”.
This statue's Black Receiver pierced his body and drained his life force. I think that it happened because Nagato didn't have enough power (life force) on his own to support the statue. It basically took too much from Nagato and left him emaciated.
Nagato Uzumaki was a skilled user of the Rinnegan. In fact, his mastery of it was second only to Madara Uchiha. His biggest strength was likely controlling all six bodies of Pain at once effortlessly.
He was a descendant of the Uzumaki clan, just like our protagonist Naruto. Madara Uchiha covertly transferred his Rinnegan to Nagato while he was a child without his or his parent's knowledge. That is how Nagato acquired the great Rinnegan power at such a young age.
Obito in his Tobi persona was Kishimoto's favorite Akatsuki character to draw, because of his simple mask. His nickname (Tobi) comes from Obito calling him Guruguru (グルグル), an onomatopoeia for turning round and round or going around in circles.
Naruto defeats Pain with his final Rasengan, removing his Chakra Receivers before heading to Nagato's location, having Katsuya tell the others not to follow as Sakura finishes healing Hinata. Naruto encounters Inoichi and Shikaku on the way, the latter honoring Naruto's request to stand down to Inoichi's dismay.
Not only was he nearly killed by the Fifth Mizukage, Mei Terumi, but shortly afterward, he was also almost turned to dust by Onoki using his Dust Release Kekkei Tota.
B'Kor is Queen of Pain's brother (who kind of looks like a mix of Oracle and Nightstalker). He is friends with Nevermore (Shadow Fiend) and Vrogros (Underlord) and has taken control of the Royal Court in Ristul.
Akatsuki was the most feared organization in Naruto. Originally founded by Yahiko, it was turned into a criminal organization after his death.
The pods are also numbered from one through six using daiji characters, and are ordered counter-clockwise around the room as follows: 壱 (1) - Deva Path; 弐 (2) - Asura Path; 参 (3) - Human Path; 四 (4) - Animal Path; 五 (5) - Preta Path; 六 (6) - Naraka Path.
Pain's ring is etched with the kanji 'rei', meaning 'zero', demarcating a base or starting point. Since Yahiko was one of the founding members of the Akatsuki, it makes perfect sense for his body to be adorned with the word 'zero', denoting him as the instigator of the revolution.
3 As His Captain, Kakashi Mentors Itachi
Following the murder of the Uchiha clan, Kakashi partially blames himself. He feels that he should have done more to mentor Itachi and that, if he had, perhaps Itachi would have acted differently.
Soon after, Jiraiya encounters a trio of Amegakure orphans consisting of Nagato, Yahiko, and Konan, training the three in ninjutsu to protect themselves before returning to the Land of Fire.
Although he changed his views mid fight in the fourth ninja wars, that would also cause his demise. In an attempt to save Naruto, Sasuke and Kakashi, Obito Uchiha sacrifices his own life and gets killed by Kaguya Otsutsuki.
Gaara fights Deidara to protect the village, but is defeated. The members of the Akatsuki then kidnap him and extract Shukaku from his body. Gaara dies in the process but an elder from the village named Chiyo sacrifices her own life to revive him.
After Yura's espionage comes to an end, Pain transforms him into an Itachi clone. Under the guise of the brother of Sasuke, Naruto, Kakashi, Sakura and Chiyo face off against Yura, who eventually is killed by Naruto's Giant Rasengan technique. Viewers later see Yura's corpse, confirming his death.
Obito's hate for the Uchiha was simply a result of Madara's animosity towards the clan, as they had betrayed him long ago and had decided to side with the Senju-led government.
Tobi is a gender-neutral name of Hebrew origin. This name translates to “God is good” and is a diminutive of the name Tobias. Tobi itself offers a contemporary slant to a traditional Biblical name, with its 'i' ending landing it directly in our modern age.
Obito was aware of the impression he had on everyone in Konoha, and revealing his true identity wouldn't have created the chaos he desired. Hence, Obito took Madara's identity to intimidate everyone, eventually making the Eye of the Moon Plan progress smoothly in Naruto.
In the Fourth Great Ninja War, Sasuke Uchiha, who was already the reincarnation of Indra Otsutsuki, met Hagoromo after he was in a near-death state. Just as with Naruto, Hagoromo gave half of his chakra to Sasuke, which led to his left Sharingan turning into a Rinnegan.
Urashiki's blue Rinnegan allows him to transport himself into the past to redo events.
Kaguya's nine tomoe Rinnegan sounds like the most powerful, since it can cast Infinite Tsukuyomi and Dimensional Shifting. About Sasuke's six tomoe Rinnegan and Hagoromo/Madara's purple Rinnegan, I think they're tied.
