1. Thanos (Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame)
Thanos has long been one of Marvel's greatest villains, and he has an interesting history.
#1 Iron Man
Played by Robert Downey Jr., Iron Man consistently ranks as one of the most popular characters, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe—and for a good reason.
While Quicksilver is often thought of as the fastest of the Avengers, one hero fans know from the movies can actually outrace him when they need to. Many heroes possess enhanced speed, but Pietro Maximoff is generally considered Earth's fastest man (at least in Marvel Continuity).
While Thanos is an Eternal and has the standard powers of super-strength, agility, regeneration, immortality, and more, Adam Warlock takes the upper hand. He can be killed, but he resurrects to be stronger every time.
That villain is, of course, Kang the Conqueror, who's set to be the Avengers' next opponent in the upcoming Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. And while Thanos is certainly a hard act to follow, Kang may be a far greater threat than the Mad Titan ever was.
Upon learning that Annihilus wanted to destroy all life in both the positive and negative matter universes, Thanos tried to release Galactus. Most unfortunately, Drax showed up and ripped out Thanos's heart, killing him.
Kang has arrived. At Comic-Con 2022, Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige made official what many fans had been theorizing for some time: Kang the Conqueror is the MCU's next Thanos-like villain.
Hercules / Zeus
He ranks above Thor here because he's technically the stronger of the two. In fact, he is considered by many authorities to be the physically strongest character Marvel has ever created.
Developing powers like his fellow Oans, Krona is more than powerful to defeat Thanos. Beyond his vast energy powers, Krona has mighty mental abilities that would allow him to defeat Thanos. The Mad Titan has defenses against mental attacks, but not at the level that Krona is capable of.
Alex Summers aka Havok may not be as popular as his more famous brother, but he is easily one of the most powerful mutants in the Marvel Universe. Summers' powers exploit one of the Hulk's few weaknesses, allowing him to defeat the green behemoth with shocking simplicity.
Spider-Man used the Infinity Gauntlet against Thanos and restored the universe after he snapped half of life from existence - but nobody remembers. One of Spider-Man's greatest victories is a fight his fellow heroes don't remember, as the web-slinger's defeat of Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet is only known by him.
From magic-users to Kryptonians to the Flash Family, Marvel can't match DC's power. Even Marvel's mutants would fall against a concerted assault from a team of Flashes. Marvel's heroes taking on DC's heroes would be a universe-shaking battle fans would love to see, but in the end, DC is walking away as the victor.
villainess. noun. vil·lain·ess ˈvil-ə-nəs. : a woman who is a villain.
Galactus was killed by Thor during the "Herald of Thunder" story arc in Thor (vol. 6) #1–6 (March–August 2020), and reappeared after a two-year hiatus in Fantastic Four (vol. 6) #45 (July 2022)—the final issue of the event "Reckoning War"—where Galactus is resurrected by his former heralds.
Hulk was convinced and reluctantly killed Deadpool, but it wasn't enough to stop his healing ability. Once Hulk realized Deadpool lied to him, he became angrier and smashed Deadpool's head to bits with one punch. It was a solid defeat, but still not enough to stop Deadpool from regenerating.
Whether it was magic-wielding sorcerers like Doctor Strange or entire teams like The Avengers, almost nothing can get in Hulk's way when he's on a rampage. Though he has beaten the best of the best, only his biggest victories left readers stunned at the sheer power of Bruce Banner's alter ego.
Thor: The God of Thunder almost killed Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. He really would have taken down the Mad Titan there and then if not for his wish to see Thanos realise the error of his ways. As Thanos said, he should have gone for the head. We think if Thor got another chance, he would not miss.
5 Scarlet Witch Is A Reality Warping Magic-User Who Outpowers The Highly Skilled Doctor Strange. Wanda Maximoff is one of the only superhumans in Marvel Comics who is considered to be a Celestial being due to her incredible superpowers.
Iron-Man. Of course, this is the man who is actually able to defeat Thanos in the end, sacrificing himself in order to kill him. He loses his own life to do that, proving just how unselfish he is at his core, with Iron-Man's power and strength of character being the overwhelming power for him.
Thor is Immortal, Not Invincible
In Avengers: Infinity War, Thor revealed that he was over 1500 years old. It's clear that age doesn't affect him the way it does normal mortals, as with most immortals, he is aging at a slower rate. While Thor will eventually die, it will take thousands of years for it to happen.
It should come as no surprise that, in a one-on-one battle of Zeus vs Thor, Zeus would easily triumph.
