Now, new information reveals the most popular house in
While the other houses seem cool and invite a certain allure, Hufflepuff is a little different. Often considered the least desirable of all the sorting options, here are some reasons why Hufflepuff house is the worst.
All the different ways you can be a Ravenclaw
Ravenclaw is the house renowned for its wit, wisdom and for only accepting the cleverest students. Yet these aren't the only things that make a Ravenclaw. We look at other ways you can belong to this house…
Since Hufflepuff isn't known for things like brains or brawn, the house is often considered the worst Hogwarts house.
If you have qualities of Gryffindor and Slytherin, but you care more about being brave than ambitious, choose Gryffindor. If you're intelligent and loyal, but you care more for intelligence, choose Ravenclaw. Meanwhile, Helga Hufflepuff has the right idea and she'll treat you all the same.
Hufflepuff has produced the least amount of Dark wizards
Although Hufflepuff is not exactly known for its glorious victories in the Hogwarts House Cup, it gets points for not producing that many evil wizards, Death Eaters, and Lord Voldemort-types.
Yet only a little more than 15 percent of people would be Gryffindor, and just over 5 percent would be Slytherin! The rest of the data collected is super interesting and definitely worth a scan too.
Gryffindor's often thought of as the best house, as it's the focus of Harry's time at Hogwarts.
Worst: Lucius Malfoy
Lucius Malfoy is pretty clearly a bad person, but he's a perfect example of how banal cruelty and evilness can be. Lucius likes to control, humiliate, and cause people pain, but he's also too weak and self-absorbed to really become one of the evil "greats," so to speak.
Elder. The rarest wand wood of all, and reputed to be deeply unlucky, the elder wand is trickier to master than any other. It contains powerful magic, but scorns to remain with any owner who is not the superior of his or her company; it takes a remarkable wizard to keep the elder wand for any length of time.
Hufflepuffs. Hufflepuffs are the opposite of Slytherins because they are eager to build a consensus that everyone can live with.
Although he was intelligent and bookish, Quirinus Quirrell was the weakest of the Hogwarts professors—mostly due to his extremely timid nature.
You can be creative rather than academic and be a Ravenclaw
While there are plenty of Ravenclaws who fit that description, there are many others who demonstrate that cleverness doesn't just apply to book learning. In fact, intelligence can mean being creative and Luna Lovegood is certainly one example of that.
Slytherins in love
Look at Lucius and Narcissa – a total power couple. After a fellow Slytherin, the next best match for this shrewd house would probably be Ravenclaw. A Slytherin could use Ravenclaw's intellectual and inquisitive nature to their advantage, plan their world domination in minute detail.
Harry Potter came very close to being sorted into Slytherin before he persuaded the Hat to sort him into Gryffindor.
1 Voldemort – Harry Potter
He who should not be named makes the number one spot. Voldemort is known for his viciously evil nature. He has wiped out entire generations of Wizards for standing against him, and his power in the dark arts knows no equal.
Lord Voldemort is one of the most feared and powerful wizards. He is known for his cunning and ruthlessness. Formerly known as Tom Marvolo Riddle, Lord Voldemort was the most formidable evil wizard in the entire universe.
Barry Wee Willie Winkle (b. 14 August, 1236) was the oldest known wizard in the 1990s, when he reached the age of 755. To celebrate the occasion, he held a massive party, inviting every wizard and witch he had ever known, a total of thirty million people. It was one of the biggest parties in wizarding history.
Basically, in general, hufflepuffs tend to be more comfortable with emotions in general, and are usually healthier, while slytherins are so obsessed with perfection that they repress their emotions and either become whiny or unable to move beyond the point that they've told you TEN BILLION TIMES.
Here is a list of Slytherin females: Pansy Parkinson. Daphne Greengrass. Astoria Greengrass.
Blood purity
There had also been definite examples of half-bloods sorted into the house, including Tom Riddle, Dolores Umbridge, and Severus Snape. Harry Potter, a half-blood, was nearly sorted into Slytherin, but because he asked not to be, he was placed in Gryffindor instead.
The wand belonging to Minerva McGonagall (the incomparable Maggie Smith) is simply stunning and extremely elegant. 9½ inches long, made of fir wood with a dragon heartstring core with a round handle. As a cat Animagus, the wand later proved to be extremely useful for transfiguration.
In top position is the Tales Of Beedle The Bard, a children's book that is featured in the last movie in the Harry Potter franchise, Harry Potter and the deathly hallows. The book was sold to Amazon for £1.9million at auction on December 13th 2007.
