Women in their 20s, on the other hand, prefer men about a year or two older than them, while women in their 30s are more tuned in to men a few years younger than them. At 23, life satisfaction is at its highest. All things considered, 23 is the magic number for feeling particularly satisfied with your life.
According to a new study, there IS a point where life gets EASIER. And that point is . . . age 44. The study found that people stress out in their 20s over things like finding a job, saving money, and dating . . . and people stress in their 30s over things like moving up in a career and starting a family.
But, turns out, pre-teens (ages 10-12) are the ones lacking the fun factor.
In fact, the results of a recent survey published in Evolution and Human Behavior found that we don't find babies cute until three, or even six months of age. From there, babies remain at peak cuteness until around age four-and-a-half. Understandable right? That's when they're at their most chubby and dimpled.
It seemed perfectly suited for kids 10 and older. Funny characters. Dan Levy is always great! Definitely recommended.
It found that happiness levels rose after 1945 and peaked in 1957 before de- clining during the 1960s and 1970s until a nadir in 1978's Winter of Discontent.
Crudely speaking, you may conclude that you are at your sexual peak in your 20s, your physical peak in your 30s, your mental peak in your 40s and 50s and at your happiest in your 60s – but these are just averages, so your own trajectories may follow very different paths.
According to a study published in the Social Indicators Research journal, we're the happiest between the ages of 30-34, and midlife (our 40s and 50s) is not perceived as the least happy period in life.
Women around the world report higher levels of life satisfaction than men, but at the same time report more daily stress. And while this finding holds across countries on average, it does not hold in countries where gender rights are compromised, as in much of the Middle East and sub-Saharan Africa.
We've all been there: you just met someone new, and their name went in one ear and out the other. It turns out that's least likely to happen when you're 22 or so, according to a 2010 study. Women are most attractive to men at about 23. And men's attractiveness to women seems to get better with age.
Testosterone levels are typically at their highest in men who are in their late teens and early 20s. That means they respond quickly to sexual arousal and have a very healthy appetite for all things sexual.
Research shows that many people report being happier in their 50s and 60s. Here's why. At this point, many studies have examined how your overall sense of happiness (or what psychologists sometimes call “well-being,” because that sounds more scientific) changes over the course of your life.
Humans look their physical best when they are young (typically 15–45). Women tend to look best to men at the younger end of this range (peaking in their 20s) and men tend to look best at the older end of this range (peaking in their 30s).

Based on data from large surveys of individuals, life satisfaction in cross-section often exhibits a U-shaped pattern with age: average life satisfaction is high at younger ages, reaches a minimum at about age 40, which is sometimes called the “midlife crisis,” after which it monotonically increases.
Older people tend to be happier. But why? Some psychologists believe that cognitive processes are responsible—in particular, focusing on and remembering positive events and leaving behind negative ones; those processes, they think, help older people regulate their emotions, letting them view life in a sunnier light.
The notion that men get more attractive with age is not exactly true, according to developmental psychologist Michelle Drouin says. And yet, a recent study found that, at least in the online dating world, women reach peak desirability around age 18. Men peak at age 50.

Some studies have found that women are more trustworthy than men (Croson and Buchan 1999; Chaudhuri and Gangadharan 2007; Schwieren and Sutter 2008). However, Bellemare and Kroger (2007) find men to be more trustworthy than women and Eckel and Wilson (2004b) find no gender differences in trustworthiness.
Sex Differences in Memory
Females tend to perform better than males in verbal-based episodic memory tasks, as opposed to spatial-based memory tasks [10]. Females generally access their memories faster than males [11], date them more precisely [12], and use more emotional terms when describing memories [13].
"What we have found is that women, in many different tasks, process information about five times faster than men, and use much less of their brain to do identical cognitive performance."
As puberty starts, female brains jump to at least two years older than their physical age. Males, however, usually take until their late teen years or even early twenties to match their female peer's mental age.
