Seven things you might not know about Gayndah, Queensland's oldest town. The town of Gayndah is about four hours north-west of Brisbane, in Queensland's North Burnett region.
Europeans settled in Queensland in 1825 when Brisbane was selected as a penal settlement for the more difficult convicts. Pillinger, Tasmania
Pillinger is an abandoned town on Macquarie Harbour, on Tasmania's west coast. It was constructed in 1897 by Irish prospector James Crotty, who founded North Mount Lyell Company, and it quickly became a thriving port.
