Lord Jesus, we ask you to give us all around peace in our mind, body, soul and spirit. We want you to heal and remove everything that is causing stress, grief, and sorrow in our lives. Please guide our path through life and make our enemies be at peace with us.
O Father of mercies and God of all comfort, our only help in time of need: We humbly ask that you behold, visit, and relieve those who suffer from depression, anxiety, schizophrenia and other mental illnesses.
Philippians 4:6-7 “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
I trust in your power and grace that sustain and restore me. Loving Father, touch me now with your healing hands, for I believe that your will is for me to be well in mind, body, soul and spirit.
Lord Jesus, I come before you, just as I am, I am sorry for my sins, I repent of my sins, please forgive me. In your Name, I forgive all others for what they have done against me. I renounce Satan, the evil spirits and all their works.
The most effective prayer, the one that is always answered, is this: “Father, glorify Your name.” “Answer my cry, O Lord, in a way that will accomplish Your will, for Your will is good, acceptable, and perfect. It is best for You, and therefore best for me and any others who may be affected by this prayer.
Think, O' God, of our friend who is ill, whom we now commend to Your compassionate regard. that no healing is too hard if it be Your will. We therefore pray that You bless our friend with Your loving care, renew his/her strength, and heal what ails him/her in Your loving name.
Dear God, as I lay me down to sleep, relax the tension of my body; calm the restlessness of my mind; still the thoughts which worry and perplex me. Help me to rest myself and all my problems in your strong and loving arms.
Psalm 119:8 Prays that God Would Heal the Sick
God, we plead on his behalf. We pray, God, that you would heal his body, that you would miraculously move. God, we're asking for that. God, that you would do that which only you can do.
"Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise."
One of the ways that God shows us that he cares for our mental health is by providing us with the things we need - a great therapist, access to medication, time with Him, a good support system, or all of the above. Loving God with our minds can mean utilizing some of these things he provides.
For many people, God is a source of comfort and strength, says researcher Matt Bradshaw, Ph. D; and through prayer, they enter into an intimate relationship with Him and begin to feel a secure attachment. When this is the case, prayer offers emotional comfort, resulting in fewer symptoms of anxiety disorders.
Psalm 34:18
“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” The Good News: Even when you're in low spirits, God still loves you.
Prayer for Depression
Dear Lord, We pray to you for the well-being of all those people who are going through deep depression and are struggling to remain sane and composed. We urge upon you to provide them a ray of hope and be positive so that they can start leading a peaceful and happy life.
“Prayer of the heart” occurs when the Prayer moves from merely mental repetition, forced along by your own effort, to an effortless and spontaneous self-repetition of the Prayer that emanates from the core of your being, your heart. You discover that the Holy Spirit has been there, praying, all along.
May we know your presence with us, may we find you in one another, and may we be Christ for others. Merciful Father, All accept these prayers, for the sake of your Son our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.
One particular Psalm that can bring peace back into the mind and soul is Psalm 91. It is a Psalm that focuses on God's never failing protection and how even when everything around you falls to ruin, God will be at your side. Below are a few excerpts from this beautiful Psalm.
Psalm 91 is a powerful daily prayer for protection, healing, and deliverance that has protected people from death, harm, sicknesses and diseases, fear, and many of the enemy's evil attacks. Life-saving and faith-filled testimonies from children, parent, teacher, and a soldier.
Psalm 86 1
Hear, O LORD, and answer me, for I am poor and needy. Guard my life, for I am devoted to you. You are my God; save your servant who trusts in you. Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I call to you all day long.
Jesus' example of total surrender can help you surrender your anxieties over to God. Every day, you can offer up your worries to God in prayer. Hand them over to him and trust him to take care of those matters. Do this as many times as needed to surrender to God, and you'll experience God's perfect peace.
We deal with anxiety in many ways: breathing techniques, massage, and physical exercise. But God has given us a remedy that may surprise us: prayer. Philippians 4:6–7 urges: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
Anxiety no longer binds us because we can run to our Father. The truth of the matter is our fears have done nothing but hold us back from the freedom offered in Christ. Jesus said it best in Luke 12:25-26, “Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?
It is called the "Jesus Prayer", and it consists simply in uttering the single word "Jesus" (or "Lord Jesus", or "Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me, a sinner") in any situation, at any time and place, either aloud or silently.
The prayer of protection. The prayer of transformation. The prayer of restoration.
