The Wind Hashira has one of the saddest backstories in
Akaza is, by far, Demon Slayer's most tragic villain. Anime-only fans only recognize him as the demon who killed off the fan favorite Flame Hashira, Rengoku. However, his backstory drove manga readers to tears. Some might even argue that he's Demon Slayer's best-written character.
1 Mitsuri Kanroji
She felt that only a man stronger than her could love her, so she worked hard to become a Hashira and meet the other Hashira, hoping her partner might be among them. Unfortunately, Mitsuri never got her wish. While battling with Muzan, she attacked viciously, losing both her arms in the process.
Rengoku is easily one of the most lovable Hashira in Demon Slayer. This is why it's a shame that he succumbed to the wounds that he suffered in his fight against Akaza.
The gentle giant of the group, Stone Hashira Gyōmei Himejima has a huge body and an even bigger heart. He is very sensitive, seen crying almost constantly, and soft-spoken.
The Wind Hashira has one of the saddest backstories in Demon Slayer. His mother had turned into a demon and had killed five of his siblings.
The young Tanjiro is not only one of the greatest demon slayers, but thanks to his kind nature, he's also one of the most honorable characters of the series. Tanjiro not only showed selflessness and love towards his sister and the people he cared for but even showed kindness towards his demonic enemies.
Gyomei Himejima
Gyomei Himejima, the Stone Hashira, is the strongest Hashira in the Demon Slayer corps in terms of strength and swordsmanship. He is the only person who uses spiked flails and an axe instead of standard swords to kill demons.
The only Demon he despises the most is the Upper Rank Two: Doma.
2) Nezuko Kamado (12 physically; 14 chronologically)
She's also feral when her demon powers come out. She was turned into a demon by Muzan and thus stuck in a 12-year-old body. This made her an ideal target for Demon Slayers, which is why Tanjiro has to carry her around hidden in a basket and to hide her from the sun.
Muichiro is a 14-year-old boy at the time of his death and had a youthful appearance befitting said demographic. His pale turquoise eyes are large and empty-looking and his complexion is very light.
With his blood, Muzan can turn others into demons and seems like an unstoppable foe. However, the demon king seems to fear one thing: Tanjirou's hanafuda earrings. A look into Muzan's past reveals that only one man ever came close to killing him.
And finally, let's get to the number one saddest death in the franchise, and of course, that's the death of the brightly burning Flame-Breathing user that is Kyojuro Rengoku.
1. Hated Demon Slayer characters: Muzan Kibutsuji. Muzan Kibutsuji is the primary antagonist of the entirety of Demon Slayer. And while we often want to show grace to premade villains, especially if we don't have all the details, this demon just makes it too easy to despise every single inch of him.
The Insect Pillar of Demon Slayer Corps, Shinobu is undeniably the smartest individual. She might not be physically stronger than others, but her intelligence is what kept her going. Shinobu is proficient in medical knowledge and can also create poisons out of wisteria flowers that are lethal to demons.
Before Gyomei Himejima was a Demon Slayer Hashira, he lived in a temple raising nine orphan children, and he has been blind since birth. After an invading demon killed all but one of the children, Gyomei Himejima beat the demon with his bare fists until sunrise.
When it comes to pure strength, Shinobu Kocho is the weakest Hashira in Demon Slayer.
