Apollo was the god of practically everything – including but not limited to music, poetry, art, prophecy, truth, archery, plague, healing, sun and light (although the god is always associated with the sun, the original sun god was the titan Helios, but everyone forgot about him).
Apollo was a much-loved god, and this was most likely due to his association with many positive aspects of the human condition such as music, poetry, purification, healing, and medicine. The god was also associated with moderation in all things.
Although there are numerous immortals that live on Mount Olympus, these twelve Gods are considered to be the most powerful and important. Apollo, like most Gods, has the power of eternal youth, meaning that he cannot grow old. He also had the power to be completely immune to any earthly disease.
Apollo is the Greek God of the sun, light, music, truth, healing, poetry, and prophesy, and one of the most well-known gods in Greek mythology. Known as the ideal of youth and athleticism, Apollo is the son of the Zeus and Leto; and his twin sister, Artemis, is the goddess of the moon and the hunt.
He was also often depicted with one or both of his two main attributes: a bow and a lyre. The bow symbolized distance, death, terror, and awe, while the lyre more gently proclaimed the joy of communion with Olympus through music, poetry, and dance.
In honor of his lover, Apollo makes a flower spring up from Hyacinthus' blood. Confusingly, this flower isn't actually what we today call a hyacinth. Most sources agree that it was most likely an iris or a larkspur, since the myth tells us that Apollo writes on the flower the sound of his grief (Ai, Ai).
Like all the Olympian gods, Apollo was an immortal and powerful god. He had many special powers including the ability to see into the future and power over light. He could also heal people or bring illness and disease. When in battle, Apollo was deadly with the bow and arrow.
He's the most Greek of the gods. He's super talented, super powerful (the most powerful son of Zeus), super beautiful (so much that he was worshipped as Aphrodite's twin in the light of beauty!), super protective of his mom and sister, super caring to his kids and would unleash fury on whoever harmed his kids.
The first Apollo moon landing was a spectacular national and technological achievement.

Apollo angered his father Zeus and ended up being sent to Earth and is in the body of a 16 year-old boy named Lester Papadopolous. Zeus punishes Apollo for the role that he played in the battle between the gods in Gaea. Apollo is of course upset about this and is wondering how soon he can get back to god status.
He was known as the god who could foretell the future. His most famous sacred place was at Delphi, site of the Oracle of Delphi. Apollo was very intelligent, as seen in a story with Mercury.
With his bow and arrows, Apollo could relieve suffering, but also send a plague to the Greeks, as he did during the famed 10-year Trojan War when King Agamemnon spurned one of Apollo's priests and angered “the god of the silver bow” (Homer, 1.35, 1898).
Ovid characterizes Apollo as a god of foolish and ineffectual passions. The son of Jupiter and the god of the sun, Apollo is a hothead. His strong emotions often get the best of him, making him look and act foolish.
