Use of Russian language in standard daily life and work situations. The participant can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc.
I think 3000 to 3500 words or more may be more realistic a word count for level 1 to take into count the case endings. I think 20000 words in Russian is going to be a minimum and 30000 to 50000 words would be a more comfortable fluency level.
B2 (TORFL-II: the second level). Sufficiently high level of knowing Russian language, which is enough for communication in all spheres of activity. This level allows to work in engineering, humanitarian and Natural-scientific areas.
A C1 level of proficiency in Russian enables you to function in all kinds of professional and social environments with great fluency.
For Russian – at 1100 hours – it's six years to fluency. Remember, that's to get to the heights of C1.
How long should it take to learn Russian if you want to achieve the elementary level, or A1? If you're an absolute beginner, 6 weeks of intensive study will be enough. By intensive, we mean about 120 hours of studying.
The CEFR (common European framework of reference for languages) estimates that it will take between 1000 to 1200 hours of guided learning to reach a B2 (upper intermediate) level.
Level B2 corresponds to a more advanced, more independent level than previous levels. A B2 user can communicate easily and spontaneously in a clear and detailed manner. This is not yet an experienced speaker, but a B2 user is able to understand and be understood in most situations.
The Foreign Service Institute of the United States has determined that it takes about 1100 hours of study to reach fluency in Russian. If you're willing to study 3 hours every day, it could take you a year to reach that level.
Since Russian is a global language with so many speakers, learning the language could be a great step for anyone's career. With many Russian-speaking nations experiencing economic upswings, knowing the language could be the key to striking the ideal business deal.
Luckily, since you only need about 850-1000 words to speak a language at a conversational level, all you need to get to that level is around 6 months of focused vocabulary learning. If you create the simple habit of learning 6 new words per day, that will teach you 26 x 7 x 6 = 1092 words in half a year.
They are also more aware of what they need to work on next to progress. However, in general, b1 is considered to be more difficult than b2. The person has reached a point in his or her career where he or she can engage in a wide range of activities both at work and away from it.
In CEFR terms, level B is split into two - B1 and B2 - with B1 being an independent user at the threshold, and B2 being an advanced independent user. A candidate receiving a B1 language level score can already access certain jobs requiring language skills.
That's because Duolingo's Russian course is really short. Although each skill has up to 6 levels, realistically you could complete the course to crown level 1 in a pretty short time. Compared to some of Duolingo's more popular courses, like French, Spanish and German, there's nowhere near as much content.
Can I learn Russian in 6 months? While total fluency will take years of practicing Russian and will likely require you to spend time in a Russian-speaking country, it's absolutely possible to learn the Cyrillic alphabet, plenty of Russian words, and the basics of Russian grammar in six months.
Noun case is probably the hardest part of Russian for English speakers to fully master. And this of course makes us ask: What exactly is Russian noun case? Simply put, the ending of a Russian noun tells you what it does/what role it has in a sentence.
Duolingo offers a complete Russian course, but that doesn't mean it teaches the language well. If you're looking to pick up some useful words and phrases, it's a great option. If you want to become fluent in Russian though, Duolingo is not the best choice. Apps like Rocket Languages and Babbel are better.
A2 (Базовый – Basic) – By this time you expand your vocabulary and keep the conversation going about simple topics such as family and friends, food and traditional cuisine, traveling and transport, cities and directions. You need about 6-8 weeks (120-160 h) to achieve the Basic stage if you passed the Elementary exam.

Can express themself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in more complex situations.
Of all the European languages a native English speaker can learn, Russian is among the most difficult. The Germanic and Romance languages have a lot of the same core because they both have roots in Latin. Russian is from a completely different language branch called the Slavonic branch, which includes Czech and Polish.
A C2 level of English is essentially a native level. It allows for reading and writing of any type on any subject, nuanced expression of emotions and opinions, and active participation in any academic or professional setting.
