Hela was a wonderful wartime leader, or executioner as she called herself; proudly serving as Odin's general in conquest. However, when Odin transitioned into a peace-time King, Hela refused to oblige to this as her cruelty grew to become a threat to his new society.
So far, Hela and Sibyl are the only Pure Evil villains of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to be female.
Hela, Odin's first born, served as Asgard's Executioner and Goddess of Death, as her and her father made their way through the Nine Realms bringing death, destruction and conquest along for the ride. When Odin had a change of heart and wanted peace, he could not stop Hela's ambition and bloodlust; he imprisoned her.
So what's her beef with Thor? Thor is no longer Odin's first born and should not be in line for the Throne of Asgard. This is why Hela personally destroys Mjolnir. She not only hates Thor but she knows he's the only one who can destroy her.
Gaining her power from Asgard, Hela planned to rule Asgard and create an Asgardian Empire. When all the people of Asgard refused to bow to her, Hela set about massacring Odin's armies and enslaving their people, while recruiting Skurge to be her own Executioner in the process.
Over time, though, he missed Valkyrie so much that he went to Hela and asked if there was anything he could do to return to the living. Hela agreed to release him under two conditions. The first was that she wanted an heir, so the two had sex and Thor impregnated her.
She also releases her spirit as an astral projection, which retains much of her powers. Hela is weakened without her cloak—so much so she cannot keep herself standing or cast magical power. It's theorized that without her cloak, she cannot leave her two realms.
Hela Odinsdottir is a major antagonist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, appearing as the main antagonist of Thor: Ragnarok and a posthumous antagonist in Avengers: Infinity War.
Hela Has Superhuman Speed And Stamina
This, coupled with her superhuman stamina might prove too much for Thanos, despite the fact that he is also an incredibly powerful being. Her speed gives her reflexes, and she can definitely hit quite hard.
She may be pure evil, but she's also the perfect narrative foil to Thor — and beyond that, she's also just fun to watch as she wreaks havoc in battle.
However, Thor and Loki joins forces with the last Valkyrie and Bruce Banner to escape Sakaar and return to Asgard, where Thor engages his sister in battle while Loki secretly revives Surtur to initiate Ragnarök. Hela attempts to fight Surtur, but is ultimately killed by his Twilight Sword.
Hela Understood Mjolnir's Power
That opens the possibility that Hela retained some hold over her former weapon, enabling her to shatter it. We don't know if she bonded with Mjolnir through some sort of Asgardian mysticism, but she possessed the hammer for much longer than Thor did.
Thor, who is used to considering his weapon invincible, throws it at Hela without a second thought. To his horror, Hela actually catches Mjolnir in her outstretched arm, and shatters it with ease. It is a tremendously effective way to demonstrate just how powerful Hela really is.
Most impressively, Thanos did whatever he needed to accomplish his goal. He killed Loki, a bunch of Asgardians, the Collector, and even sacrificed his own daughter, Gamora, for his vision. You don't get much darker than that. Singh: Thanos checks off all our boxes in determining the best and worst MCU villains.
In a world that loves pitting popular characters against each other, one would wonder if Hela and Scarlet Witch ever met in battle, who'd emerge victorious? Hela would win in a fight against Scarlet Witch.
Hela would win in a fight against Thanos. She is an incredibly powerful and skilled fighter. As the Goddess of Death, she has immense strength, durability, and regenerative abilities. She is also a master of weapons, particularly her lethal blades.
Odin has beaten Hela and had his son resurrected many times, and she has yet to succeed in taking retribution. These days, Odin is no longer the King of Asgard and no longer has the Odinforce, so, if Hela wanted revenge on the old man, now would be the time.
Climactic Moment: Thor realizes the only way to defeat Hela is to cause Ragnarok and destroy Asgard, her source of power. While he holds her off, he sends Loki to resurrect Surtur—who plunges his sword into the heart of Asgard, destroying Hela.
Hela (Thor: Ragnarok) vs Odin (God of War: Ragnarok)
Odin would win. Odin stomps. Odin killed the First Gaint Ymir who all of creation created from he's flesh and he ( Ymir ) created in a void by the Primordial force of fire and Primordial force of Ice, and he is a being formed from pure creation and chaos [0:33].
In the MCU, Mjolnir initially belonged to Thor's sister Hela, who used it in battle alongside her own weaponry to subjugate the Nine Realms alongside Odin. However, Odin banished her to Hel once his expansionist desires faded.
Hela was born around early 679 B.C. (March 24th by modern dating systems). This makes her: 1642.37443938, or 36.69358314 in human years, when Thor was born.
He deals in secrets and lies, and covering up those deceptions can frequently cloud his judgement. Indeed, most of the trouble that has befallen Odin and Asgard can be traced back to the way he has treated his children. He spoiled Thor, making the young warrior arrogant, stubborn, immature and irresponsible.
Modi Thorson was the son of Thor and the goddess of Death, Hela from the Ultimates timeline. The story of his conception and birth begins with the aftermath of an event called Ultimatum, which is also considered to be one of the worst event comics ever.

Created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby in Journey into Mystery #102 (1964), Hela was the child of Loki ( in one of his many incarnations) and giantess Angrboða from Jotunheim. When she was old enough, the All-Father Odin bestowed her with the title Goddess of the Dead and claim to their undead realms.
