The four MBTI conflict pairs are therefore TJ, TP, FJ, and FP. Based on your MBTI results, your preferences are for Feeling and Perceiving, and your conflict pair is FP. As an FP, you are likely to be viewed in conflict as someone who seeks to hear all sides of the story.
According to Ursiny, conflict typically occurs between opposite personality types. That means dominant and steady personalities clash, and conscientious and influential personalities clash.
Intuitive Thinking personality types are the most likely of all of the types to be argumentative, according to research led by Donald Loffredo, Ed. D, at the University of Houston. ENTJs in particular tended to score as highly argumentative.
ENFJ. ENFJs are strong-willed people who absolutely possess a great fighting spirit. They don't allow things to stand in their way and always seem to be capable of overcoming adversity.
ISTJ. ISTJs are vigilant, cautious and wary of risk, which means there's zero chance of them doing anything that could cause permanent damage to their body! They have a strong fear of change and of failure, and feel deeply uncomfortable when placed in situations they don't understand. Put simply, ISTJs are fact people.
A Defender (ISFJ) is someone with the Introverted, Observant, Feeling, and Judging personality traits. These people tend to be warm and unassuming in their own steady way. They're efficient and responsible, giving careful attention to practical details in their daily lives.
The introverted (I) intuitive (N) types (“INs”)—INFJ, INFP, INTJ and INTP—are among the most “sensitive” of the personality types.
1. ESFJ. People who fit the ESFJ personality type can usually be recognized by their big hearts and kindly manner. ESFJs are warm and welcoming and their love of tradition means they value good old-fashioned manners highly.
INFP and INFJ: The Overthinkers
When it comes to these types, their anxiety can stem from an inclination to overthinking.
According to the MBTI® Manual, ISFPs were the type most likely to get upset or angry and show it, as well as the type most likely to get upset or angry and not show it.
Thus, Commander (ENTJ), Debater (ENTP), Executive (ESTJ), and Entrepreneur (ESTP) personalities are more likely than other types to slip into domineering dictator behavior. At least as far as group statistics go, the vast majority of individuals of these types are totally cool.
“A conflict-avoidant personality is a type of people-pleasing behavior where someone avoids conflict or disagreements at all costs and fears making others upset or angry,” explains Babita Spinelli, a psychotherapist licensed in New York, New Jersey, and Florida.
They're probably ISFJs, who feel super uncomfortable with the prospect of hurting anyone's feelings. "They tend to be wallflowers and can sometimes stumble over their words," says Owens. They'll likely skip the inflammatory family dinner conversation—even if they're Zooming in from thousands of miles away.
ENTJ This Myers-Briggs personality is the kind that can have an extremely hard time holding onto a romantic relationship. Their alpha personalities often cause them to immediately assume the dominating role in a partnership. In other words, they don't understand that it's called a partnership for a reason.
INTJs are typically very quiet and reserved unless they happen to meet someone who, like them, loves exploring theoretical concepts, analyzing possibilities, and dreaming up long-term goals. That said, they're not typically very verbal when it comes to discussing their feelings or people's personal lives.
Assertive Debaters (ENTP-A), Executives (ESTJ-A), and Entrepreneurs (ESTP-A) (all 95%), and Assertive Commanders (ENTJ-A) (98%) are the personality types reporting the highest confidence in their own abilities.
INTJs are the most independent of all the Myers Briggs Types, and they're proud of that independence. They're problem solvers who loves a challenge and they can turn theories into actions. They analyse life based on what they see, and are usually busy with their thoughtful contemplations.
ISTPs are the most unpredictable of the 16 personality types, because they're typically rational and logical, but can also be enthusiastic and spontaneous.
Introverted Feeling (Fi), by contrast, is an intrapersonal function. Whenever possible, it prefers to handle emotional issues inwardly and independently. This is why ISFPs, who use Fi as their dominant function, are among the least talkative of all types.
People with avoidant personality disorder are afraid of being rejected, criticized, or embarrassed and thus avoid situations where they may experience such reactions.
INFJ personalities are often seen as those quiet, sensitive types who are easily upset and seem to take everything personally.
Perhaps the most sensitive of all the personality types, INFJs take it hard when someone they trust lets them down. They tend to hold on to anger longer than they should and are capable of holding a grudge even when the other person has apologized, repeatedly, for their wrongdoing.
INTJs often hide their vulnerable or emotional side behind a mask of stoicism. They are the types to let their behavior speak for them, rather than put their feelings into words.
According to Truity, INTP is the most common MBTI type among college students committing alcohol and drug policy violations.
