Emotion Sensitivity

Individuals with BPD aren't just genetically vulnerable to emotions; they've also grown up in an “invalidating environment.” So they might've never learned how to regulate their emotions, or their emotions were continuously ignored or dismissed.
Dependent personality disorder usually starts during childhood or by the age of 29. People with DPD have an overwhelming need to have others take care of them. Often, a person with DPD relies on people close to them for their emotional or physical needs. Others may describe them as needy or clingy.
One of the biggest differences between histrionic and borderline personality disorder is that people with HPD are primarily motivated by a desire for attention, while those with BPD are primarily motivated by a fear of abandonment and rejection.

However, it's important to understand that people with BPD often engage in destructive behaviors not because they intend to hurt you but because their suffering is so intense that they feel they have no other way to survive.
