Worriers reported a more negative daydreaming style, greater difficulty with attentional control, and greater obsessional symptoms, public self-consciousness and social anxiety.
Research has indicated that individuals with high emotional reactivity (high neuroticism) and introverted tendencies (low extroversion) are more likely to experience anxiety than other personality types [101].
These individuals are said to have the “warrior” personality. Individuals with lower COMT activity typically don't cope as well with stress and are, therefore, “worriers” [8]. Worriers may be at higher risk for suffering from anxiety disorders [4, 10].
INFP and INFJ: The Overthinkers
We start off with INFPs and INFJs: two Introverted personalities that often experience bouts of anxiety. When it comes to these types, their anxiety can stem from an inclination to overthinking.
People who overthink tend to score high in the neurotic department. Neuroticism is one of the five big personality traits, along with openness, conscientiousness, extraversion and agreeableness. It's linked to anxiety, fear, moodiness, worry, envy and frustration.
But you're not alone—research suggests 73% of 25- to 35-year-olds chronically overthink, along with 52% of people ages 45 to 55. In many cases, overthinking could show up as rumination, which often involves perseverating on events of the past and even the present with a negative mindset.
Narcissistic personality disorder.
They are overly sensitive to criticism, judgment, and defeat.
Type D personality is associated with social anxiety in the general population.
Of all the personality types, ENTJs are arguably the ones who care least about other people's opinions of them. This is not a personality type who sugarcoats things or cares what others think of them. They are decisive, assertive and extremely blunt. Once you realize this is just the ENTJ way then you'll be fine.
A recent review of findings on ADHD and FFM personality suggests that, in general, ADHD has associations with the FFM traits of Neuroticism (positive), Agreeableness (negative) and Conscientiousness (negative).
Although we can't attribute every courageous act to genetics, there is some evidence that traits such as bravery and fearlessness are etched into your genes. In fact, depending on the type of variant you possess in a gene called COMT, you could be classed as either a “warrior” or a “worrier.”
ESFJ. Those who are extroverted, sensing, feeling, and judging are often identified as one of the kindest types by experts. "ESFJs have extroverted feeling as a dominant cognitive function," Gonzalez-Berrios says. "This makes them rule by their hearts.
The test measures seven specific traits: callousness, grandiosity, aggressiveness, suspicion, manipulativeness, dominance, and risk-taking.
Borderline personality disorder (BPD), also known as emotionally unstable personality disorder (EUPD), is a personality disorder characterized by a long-term pattern of intense and unstable interpersonal relationships, distorted sense of self, and strong emotional reactions.
ISTJ. ISTJs are vigilant, cautious and wary of risk, which means there's zero chance of them doing anything that could cause permanent damage to their body! They have a strong fear of change and of failure, and feel deeply uncomfortable when placed in situations they don't understand. Put simply, ISTJs are fact people.
The INTJ. INTJs, like INFJs, get overwhelmed by busy, loud, flashy environments. These types need quiet and peace in order to process ideas and data in their preferred way. They can find themselves unable to think or analyze effectively if there is too much commotion around them.
ISFJs and ISTJs and Cleanliness:
For the ISFJ and ISTJ personality types, having a sense of order and cleanliness gives them peace of mind. They notice the little things and feel satisfaction when their environment is free of dirt, dust, and clutter.
INFP. INFPs are on a lifelong quest for meaning and inner serenity. They are driven by deeply-felt personal values and are passionately committed to them.
ISTP personality types are calm, efficient and productive, and are open to new opportunities. This introduction to the ISTP personality type, based on the Myers-Briggs® Step I personality assessment, can help ISTPs to understand how they interact with others, and what careers they might enjoy.
"ESFJs are social creatures with a lot of love for routine. They tend to be sensitive and feel most awkward when they think they are the butt of someone's joke or are not having their feelings in a friendship or relationship reciprocated," says Owens.
Avoidant personality disorder is characterized by avoiding social situations or interactions that involve risk of rejection, criticism, or humiliation. People with avoidant personality disorder are afraid of being rejected, criticized, or embarrassed and thus avoid situations where they may experience such reactions.
INFJ and INTJ
These types have a tendency to crave perfection so intensely that they will abandon projects altogether because they cannot find a way to do them absolutely flawlessly. The INFJ and INTJ types are hardest on themselves if and when they are chasing perfection (which is pretty much all of the time).
ESTJs have a tendency to think they are always right and that their moral compass is objective, absolute and universal.
