What does 8K mean? An 8K TV is a TV that has a screen with 7,680 horizontal and 4,320 vertical pixels for a total of approximately 33 million pixels. The "K" in 8K stands for Kilo (1000), meaning a TV that has achieved a horizontal resolution of almost 8,000 pixels.
The most commonly discussed 16K resolution is 15360 × 8640, which doubles the pixel count of 8K UHD in each dimension, for a total of four times as many pixels. This resolution has 132.7 megapixels, 16 times as many pixels as 4K resolution and 64 times as many pixels as 1080p resolution.
The term "2160p" could be applied to any format with a height of 2160 pixels, but it is most commonly used in reference to the 4K UHDTV resolution of 3840 × 2160 due to its association with the well-known 720p and 1080p HDTV formats.
8K offers 4 times as many pixels than 4K and a staggering 16 times as many pixels compared to a 1080p TV.
1080p is full HD, but when you quadruple the amount of pixels it becomes 4k. When you quadruple the amount of pixels in a 4k screen, it becomes 8k. And so, of course, if you quadruple the amount of pixels on an 8k screen, you get 16k.
Can humans see 16K resolution? Beyond that, the human eye wouldn't be able to perceive any more detail on their screen. There'll be no great race to 16K or 32K. "That's about 48 million pixels to fill the field of view," Huddy explains.
Currently, it is possible to run 32K resolutions using multi-monitor setups with AMD Eyefinity or Nvidia Surround using 16 8K TVs or monitors. However, this type of setup is costly and difficult to implement. No displays or monitors singly capable of displaying a 32K resolution are available to the consumer market yet.
8k is an overkill. At a distance of 8 to 9 feet from a 50″ TV (which is the most typical situation today), our eyes cannot distinguish between 2K (1080p full HD) and 4K.
A human with excellent vision can differentiate up to 160 pixels (80 intensity pairs) per degree of field of view. It's possible to see the difference between 4K and 8K video, but depends on the size of the display and the distance from the viewer. The human horizontal field of view (HFOV) is about 175 degrees.
The obvious answer is that it depends on (1) how large your television is and (2) how far away you're watching it from. The benefits of 8K will be most easily visible on a very large TV viewed from a short distance. They will be virtually invisible on a small TV viewed from far away.
et al reveals most consumers can't tell the difference. It depends on your visual acuity and how far you are from the screen. But even under the best conditions, the difference is minimal.

A 32-inch 8K monitor's pixels are a quarter of that size. No human can reliably distinguish between 0.007in from 0.0035in with their eyes, much less so when you're focused on the game and not on the pixels. If you're going to bring up large 8K TVs for gaming, it would still be futile.
