Size 0 is great for babies between 6 to 12 months old with 10 kg of weight and 76 cm in height. This size, as the name suggests, is perfect for children around the 1-year-old mark. It's intended for babies up to 18 months, weighing up to 12 kg and measuring 84 cm.
Most 6-month-old babies can wear clothes size 9–12 months, 1-year-olds wear size 2 and so on.
It's a good idea to choose clothes that are comfortable and easy to put on and off. Stretchy body suits, t-shirt tops or tops with envelope necks, and elastic-waist pants or leggings work well. And as your baby starts to move around, clothes that let your baby move freely are a practical choice.
Shoes for bigger kids start at size 1 and run up to 7, creating the confusing fact that a size 1 shoe (in big kids' sizes) is the next size up from a size 13 shoe (in little kids' sizes).
What size shoe does a 1-year-old wear? On average, a 1-year-old (i.e., 12-month-old) baby wears 4C size shoes, assuming their longest foot measures 4 ¾”.
Australian sizes are measured the same as the UK. So if you're a 10 in Australia, you'll need a 10 from a UK-based store. If you're purchasing from an American store, you'll need to go 2 sizes smaller. So if you're a 10 in Australia, you're a 6 in the US.
1T will likely be longer than 12 months, may feature less diaper room, and will have older styling — don't expect diaper flaps, snaps, and zippers in 1T clothing. You may see less cutesy baby designs in T clothing, as well. The designs may seem a tad older in 1T vs 12 months.
There is no gender gap for kids' shoe sizes, no difference between sizes for boys and girls, not even for those sparkly princess gels.
In general, baby clothing is sized by age. Newborn clothing is marked as NB (for newborn), infant clothing is marked by month (for example, 0-3M) and toddler clothing is marked by age (for example, 2T for two-year-olds).
Your Child's Development: 1 Year (12 Months)
Generally, it is safe to assume that if a size label reads "12 months," you can interpret that to be 9-12 months. The same holds true with clothes marked "18 months." Plan on those outfits fitting from 12-18 months of age.
In case you weren't already confused, toddler sizes work the opposite way the infant “month” sizes work! Think of toddler sizes as fitting the entire year of the corresponding age. So 2T should fit a toddler between ages 2 and 3. 3T should fit a toddler between age 3 and 4.
In the case of a single age on a label, such as 24 months, that indicates the item is for a child of up to 24 months. When it comes to 2T, it indicates that the item is for a child of 2 years old. So, a child who has just hit their second birthday and a child approaching their third birthday should be able to wear it.
How long do babies wear onesies? Everything depends on your preference and whether your child feels comfortable. Usually, babies stop wearing onesies at 12-18 months of age but this is not a strict rule.
