Alongside their sturdy metal attacks, Steel-type Pokemon don't have any weaknesses or vulnerabilities that Fairy-type Pokemon can exploit, meaning they are the most solid choice to pair against Fairy-type moves.
Fairy type Pokemon have just two weaknesses: steel and poison types. Alongside that, are three types that resist fairy attacks, with those being poison, steel, and fire.
When it comes to resistances, Fairy-type Pokemon are totally immune to Dragon-type attacks and resistant to Bug, Dark, and Fighting-type attacks. The Pokemon Company Knowing every Fairy-type Pokemon weakness will make defeating them a breeze.
Additionally, Fairy-type attacks are resisted by Steel, Fire, and Poison-type Pokémon, but all three of those types are weak to Ground moves so if you are able to teach your Fairy-type Pokémon a move like Earthquake, it should be very hard to stop.

Although Fairy-types are arguably the strongest in all of Pokémon, the games as a whole are fairly well-balanced when it comes to typing. Fairy-type also pales in comparison to how broken Dragon-typing was before Generation 6, and overall adding Fairy-type into the game was a major improvement.
Ghost/Dark-Type Pokémon Are Only Weak To Fairy
There are only two only Pokémon with this type combination: Sableye (and Mega Sableye) Spiritomb.
Fairy is resisted by the Fire, Poison, and Steel types. However, Fire types often struggle defensively and are not super-effective against Fairy. Poison, however, is weak to Psychic-type moves which Fairy type Pokemon are able to learn frequently.
Why Does Fire Resist Fairy? This resistance likely references folk lore where fae are traditionally said to be weak towards iron and fire. As fairy types are also weak against steel this would make sense. Fairy Pokémon play towards their natural strengths, being super effective against dragons.
Poison-type moves are super-effective against Fairy- and Grass-type Pokémon, while Poison-type Pokémon are weak to Ground- and Psychic-type moves.

Acnologia is one of the main antagonists and arguably the most powerful dragon in the world of Fairy Tail. Once a human and a Dragon Slayer, he turned into a dragon due to the overuse of his Dragon Slayer Magic during the Dragon Civil War.
This card was the only Signer Dragon to speak in the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's anime, as well as the first Signer Dragon to have a confirmed gender (female).
